Welcome to Sydney By Kayak! For the past few years, Sydney by Kayak have pledged to contribute $15 from every kayak seat sold on a Clean-up paddle, to local conservation projects. We are proud and excited to take you on a learning experience, paddling around Sydney Harbour, visiting the sites of these incredible sustainability initiatives. Learn about SBK’s amazing eco partners, Ecobel Sydney and The Sydney Institute of Marine Science, responsible for the Living Seawalls, Ocean Gardens and Mangrove Nurseries, as well as the “Great White” and Seabins, to name a few. Sydney by Kayak have raised over $25,000 for conservation and we are excited to share these Sydney Harbour projects with you.

14 February 2025: Finding Joy in Connection, Nature, and Impact 🌊💙 As a SailGP Impact Judge, I had the privilege of visiting the Sydney Institute of Marine Science Living Seawall with the incredible Janine Ledet #scienceboss On my way to Blues Point (via Quirabee Park), I met Glen, a caretaker of Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden—a not-so-secret oasis of peace and biodiversity. Glen shared how he left material wealth to find his true joy, and we landed on a shared thought that resonated deeply: ✨ We love animals because they come to us with only joy—and as human {animals}, we can too- ding! On water STEAM education sesh with SailGP, Australia SailGP Team and the brilliant Dr Janine Ledet representing the Living Seawalls project and Sydney Institute of Marine Science(SIMS). We (scientists, athletes, school kids, passionate sustainability legends) had the pleasure of kayaking round to Blue’s Point in Sydney Harbour to view Seawall panels. These are placed around the harbour and aim to create habitat for marine species. I met some wonderful humans today all in the name of science, sustainability and sport. Thank you SailGP teams, Dr Janine, Sydney By Kayak and the entire team who provided a wonderful experience to share knowledge. It was also a pleasure to have met the wonderful Emirates team! Unfortunately, no fur seal or dolphin sightings but we now have an even bigger part of the community who are marine mammal aware and ready to spot when they are next on the harbour. Making Waves for the Environment! 🌊 This month, 24 dedicated DLL Team Members took to the waters of Sydney Harbour, combining kayaking with a mission to support one environmental stewardship and enjoyed views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House on a sunny morning. Together, most importantly, an impressive 10.15kgs of trash was collected from the harbour, setting a new record for Corporate Clean Ups!
