Some climbers from The Australian Climbing Association noticed a growing issue: litter was piling up at their favourite crags, not only detracting from the beauty of these natural spaces but also threatening their reputation as responsible outdoor enthusiasts. Determined to make a difference, they reached out to Take 3 for the Sea and joined the Ground Swell Program, supported by the EPA. Ground Swell provided them with practical tools and solutions to address the problem, from understanding the causes of litter to developing tailored action plans. Together, they’ve already tackled two key areas—Alfords Point in Georges River National Park and Iris Moore Park in Tomaree National Park in New South Wales, Australia. Armed with Ground Swell resources, the climbers have turned cleanup efforts into a sustainable plan to protect these sites for years to come. This is the power of collaboration! 🌱 For more on this story head top https://lnkd.in/g4rxhnQj Learn more about how Ground Swell is helping people and businesses create lasting change: https://lnkd.in/gNBgVV5e This project is a NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy initiative, funded from the waste levy. #Take3fortheSea #GroundSwellProgram #LitterFreeCrags #SustainabilityInAction

We are fortunate to have some wonderful partners who help spread our message and raise money to support our work. Today we are profiling one of our high impact partners, ESS Boardstore. ESS Boardstore, a pioneering surf and snow retailer on the Central Coast of Australia, has been making waves in the fight against plastic pollution. Since 1988, ESS Boardstore has led the way in the surf and snow industry, and their commitment to environmental sustainability has never been stronger.  ESS Boardstore’s partnership with Take 3 for the Sea has extended beyond fundraising. The business has embraced sustainability by educating its staff through beach clean-ups and implementing better packaging practices to reduce plastic consumption. This shift in decision-making is a testament to the cultural change that can happen when companies make sustainability a core part of their operations. Any business, not matter how big or small, can make a positive impact! Head to Take3.org/news for the full story.
