  • Black Friday & Cyber Monday🚨💥🚀 Now that most of the sales have ended, let’s talk about a few trends we noticed over the weekend. These tactics caught our eye and made brands stand out in the sea of sales. 1️⃣ Low effort creatives that worked HARD This year, it wasn’t about polished, glossy, high-production ads. Instead, we saw a wave of raw, messy, and handwritten text slapped onto images—like it was thrown together at the last minute. These creatives felt organic, less salesy, and way more eye-catching against brands that went all out with over-the-top designs. It’s a clear nod to breaking through the noise by being a little scrappier.  2️⃣No Sale? No probs Some brands skipped the Black Friday chaos altogether. A standout example? The Ordinary, which closed sales on the day and encouraged shoppers to shop more mindfully (reinforcing their brand values). Instead of pushing FOMO, they leaned into value-driven messaging. We saw brands launching “Hour of Power” sales or timed discounts like 50% off for just 50 minutes with codes like ‘50for50.’ It created urgency, excitement, and a little extra magic for savvy shoppers who scored big in those tiny windows. As consumers become more discerning, it’s exciting to see brands pivoting away from cookie-cutter strategies. 👉 What trends did you notice this year, and which ones do you think will stick around?

    The Hospitality Show in San Antonio, TX; got to be one of the biggest events on the show circuit. Here's my two highlights from the 72 hour whirlwind trip; 1. AI is everywhere, but what is it doing? Every second stand had AI in its name...but AI isn't actually new. It's been around a long time but only just entered our common conscious thanks to ChatGPT. And to date, it hasn't really delivered anything unique or ground breaking. Instead it's offering an edge. The ability to automate data flows, articulate insights from data sets, recommend upsells to guests or customers. Rather than looking for the silver bullet from AI, review your tech stack to see if there are opportunities to use it for incremental improvement. 2. Scalability, efficiency without CX sacrifice There's a huge push on scaling your operations via efficiency gains, without sacrificing your CX. A lot of the vendors actually had case studies around cost-outs and service improvements simultaneously. Again, when you're reviewing your stack, looking at how it's delivering not just the core functionality it's designed for, but also an efficiency gain is more important than ever. A new tech investment that saves your team 8 hours a month could be well worth the investment given the cost of labour in your business. Most of the tech vendors at the show were really focussed on this.
