Severe weather continues to impact southeast QLD and northern NSW. Our thoughts are with these communities and our people who call them home. 🟢Resuming Operations: After having to close last week, our teams are working hard to safely resume operations at most of our facilities in these regions today, pending local weather. However, flooding and damage to local infrastructure is still restricting our ability to operate at capacity. 📦Interstate pick-ups: If you have been holding freight bound for the affected region, we can now transport it for you. ☔️Please be patient with our team: With the region struggling with extensive power outages, restricted telecommunications and flooding, we know some of our team members (and their families) are personally impacted. So some sites will be operating with restricted personnel numbers.

This International Women’s Day, we’re taking the time to reflect on the importance of equality, regardless of gender. According to the National Women in Transport Initiative, women make up just over 27% of Australia’s transport workforce across rail, road, sea, and air. 🌀Cyclone Alfred update For our teams on the ground in southeast QLD and northern NSW, the impacts of Cyclone Alfred are now being felt. Residents have been advised to shelter at home. For the safety of our people, their families and the community (and for the protection of customer’s freight) all Team Global Express services in the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Lismore have temporarily ceased. Our depots in the region have been secured and are being monitored. If you are also in the region, please stay safe. Our teams will be back up and running as soon as they safely can.

A message for our customers in, and shipping to, South-East QLD and northern NSW. We understand the uncertainty that Cyclone Alfred brings. Like many, we’re watching closely and preparing. Whilst cyclones this far south in QLD are unusual, TGE has weathered many such events across our network, and our team is drawing on this experience now. ✅ Work continues – Our depots, linehaul and operations are running as normal today with the exception of some LCL (rail) collections. If you’re putting disaster plans into action or just keeping things moving, we’re here to support you. 📆 Planning ahead – As Cyclone Alfred crosses the coast, we are anticipating and planning for some level of localised disruption. Depots may close and most, if not all, aircraft in our network are expected to cease flying into/out of Brisbane from tonight. 🗣 Keeping you updated – As things change, we will provide updates via our website and social media channels. 🌀Above all else, please stay safe out there. Remember: if it’s flooded, forget it.

It was bamboo, panda cakes and veggies on the menu as Giant Pandas Fu Ni and Wang Wang bid farewell to Australia on their journey back to their homeland China. After 15 years at Zoos South Australia Adelaide Zoo, Team Global Express has transported these beautiful animals home on one of our network’s 737-800 BCFs. With thanks to our logistics partners Air Charter Worldwide (Shaun Aisen) and Texel Air Australasia, the journey went off without a hitch. Australia won’t be without Giant Pandas for long however, as Team Global Express gets set to transport two new pandas from China to Adelaide Zoo.
