  • A conservation milestone! Rainforestation Nature Park is now caring for four endangered Orange-bellied parrots. This marks the first time that these rare migratory parrots are being housed in North Queensland. Wild populations of the Orange-bellied parrot have dwindled to approximately 20 individuals in recent years, highlighting the importance of conservation efforts. The parrots spend their time migrating between Tasmania and southeastern Australia in the wild. #OrangeBelliedParrot #Conservation #Wildlife

  • We recently celebrated the CaPTA Excellence Awards at the glamorous Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Port Douglas. Over 140 employees, dressed to impress in Miami-inspired attire, gathered to recognize outstanding achievements. The evening kicked off at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas, where we enjoyed mingling, delicious nibbles, and a thrilling crocodile feeding presentation at CrocArena, before proceeding to the Sheraton. Dan Kemp, Trainer & Assessor at CaPTA’s Careers Training Centre and Wildlife Team Leader at Rainforestation Nature Park was honoured as the CaPTA Excellence Awards overall winner. His unwavering commitment and leadership, especially during tough times, make him an inspiration to all. We also recognized the exceptional work of our finalists and award winners: Hannah Gryphon (Retail, Aviary & Laboratory, Australian Butterfly Sanctuary) Joel Wale (People & Culture Officer, The CaPTA Group) Claire Fitzgerald (Food & Beverage and Retail Team Leader, Rainforestation Nature Park) Haruna Sheppard (Reservations, Tropic Wings) Trent Berry (Local Sales Executive, Wildlife Habitat) Community Champion Award: Orian Blackmur (Rainforestation Nature Park) Bright Idea Award: Dan Morrely (Australian Butterfly Sanctuary) It was a fantastic night of celebration and camaraderie, and real chance to reconnect after the testing times that the tourism industry has faced. #CaPTA #ExcellenceAwards #TourismIndustry #Teamwork #Recognition
