With celebrations, parties, and gift giving around the corner, it's crucial to understand tax laws around festive spending. Businesses will be promptly caught out if they fail to understand tax laws around gifts and Christmas events and activities. Hosts may be exempt if the costs are under $300 per person, including GST, and if the ATO views these expenses as minor benefits that are provided infrequently and not as a reward for services.
