  • Inside the 8 Week Event Plan I break down the event design process to help you connect what you want to deliver with what your audience wants to receive. In this video I'm talking about THEME and how you can (and should) use the theme to connect your content, connect your audience and connect your outcomes. We're in the middle of a concurrent round of the 8 Week Event Plan and the next one will start in January. If you're ready to strategise your 2025 event plan, get in touch to find out if this program is the right one for you.

  • Are you a community event producer looking for fresh ideas and practical tools to create better events next year? At the end of the month, I’m hosting a free, one-hour webinar where I’ll walk you through my Idea to Live worksheet – designed to help you plan and deliver successful community events. I’ve also created a Community Event Producer’s Handbook to support you. Inside, you’ll find tips, ideas, and even a sponsorship worksheet with a bonus video to help with funding. ✨ Download your handbook here: https://lnkd.in/gGW2VGf5 ✨ Register for the webinar here: https://lnkd.in/gPGsZFiG Join me, and let’s explore how to bring people together in ways that matter.

  • I didn't get the invitation. I saw them all on social media having a great time and I was p*ssed! How many times do you have FOMO when you see a group in your circle engaging in an activity they didn't invite you to? In Priya Parker's book The Art of Gathering, she talks about curating an audience and considering not so much who you will invite, but who you will leave out.... On first look, this seams like a bit of "mean girl" behaviour, but actually it's an even deeper level of care and attention for your audience. How many times have you been in a meeting, at a function, or even out with friends and you think to yourself "what an earth are they doing here!". So now, instead of really connecting with like minded people, having conversations about similar or even opposing interests, you're left hanging out with someone who is completely disrupting your experience. So next time you're thinking about the audience you're attracting, maybe have a think about who you can leave out. ......................................... The 8 Week Event Plan is the perfect environment for you to explore these ideas and more. Delivered in twice weekly live calls by yours truly, we explore ideas such as this, and build exceptional events together. Check it out www.8weekeventplan.com

  • What a delight it was to invite the team from Goodness Enterprises located at The Tivoli Drive-In to The Prop House Collective yesterday. Lisa and David have designed an amazing program for these event management trainees to experience and yesterday we were so grateful to have Jano Kotzas, Founder and CEO of The Prop House Collective address the trainees, show them this amazing space and talk about all the wonderful possibilities there are in the world of theming and props. One of the talks I give to students is around all the opportunities in the world of events and all the different spaces, sectors, activities and areas you can work in. There really is space for absolutely every personality type in events, and who wouldn't want to be surrounded by all this glitter and gold! The showroom at The Prop House Collective is BURSTING with Christmas delights. Come and visit the Coorparoo showroom or jump online. So many amazing creations to see, hire or buy. And if you're keen to support a social enterprise, visit Goodness Enterprises and explore all the incredible work they do in the community.

  • What if you could upskill your volunteers while they work on your event project for you? The story in the link at the end is a tragedy for communities and volunteers alike. Volunteering is often the social construct that assists in keeping communities well being well, well. Not to mention the sharing of skills, transferring of stories feeling like a valued contributor to community. What if you engaged volunteers on a project by project basis, instead of long term or for years at a time. Would you commit to a project over a committee position? I know it suits me better. If you're struggling with adding value to your volunteers and you're seeing a decline in volunteer support for your events, perhaps consider this 8 Week Event Plan program. And if you want a special deal for your volunteers, send me a DM and I'll send you a discount code. Check it out www.8weekeventplan.com And give your volunteers something to look forward to. https://lnkd.in/gy9tW-R7

  • Put up your hand if you're spending months, even years planning your event? My addiction to high pressure environments lead me to attract clients who had weeks to plan their events. Not months, not years, WEEKS!  I discovered that the order in which I did things was the secret to my success and I've given you my 8 step plan below. Read below to see how you can design, plan, execute and administer your event in as little as 8 weeks.  I designed a system that I now teach others and the next round of the program starts on 11 November. Go to www.8weekeventplan.com to find out more.

  • I just wanted to do a quick share on how I run my business. We all know that it has become so much easier for us all to do business globally, thanks to the Internet, but for a long time it was still an expensive exercise to set up. From paying 000's for website design, setting up another site for shopping carts, managing stacks of different integrations and then trying to remember all the passwords! My "my websites" bookmark on my browser used to have about 40 links - now it has 1. I've been using the Kajabi platform for about 3 years and it is hands down the easiest and most integrated business operations system I have used. Even just from a website point of view, I now have them all in the one place and they are so easy to manage, edit and update. But I can also use it for all my bookings, sales and coaching, selling physical products and monetising just about anything I can think of. When I think about how much it used to cost in rent, web hosting, someone to manage all the online transactions, separate marketing channels and CRM, my Kajabi subscription suddenly makes it possible to compete in the big wide world of business. I want to see more people be able to do what they love, whether it's a side hustle or launching straight into the business you have always dreamed of building. Kajabi have a 50% off offer right now and it's the perfect time to jump in. USD$34 per month for 12 months, to run your business, and I reckon the subscriptions you cancel that you don't need anymore, will be more than even the full price of Kajabi. I'm happy to show you BTS of my business if you're curious. Check out Kajabi here and feel free to ask me any questions. Let's get out there and change the world instead waiting for the world to change. Here's the link - https://lnkd.in/gKaQEUdi PS: The Kajabi offer expires in less than 2 weeks so #getonit

  • Lately I've been lucky to be working with some coaching clients in my location, so I can go out, visit their events, do site visits with them and go on excursions to see some of the lessons we talk about, embedded in various brands. Recently I took one client on a shopping trip into the city. A common challenge for many creatives is pricing their products and services and more often than not, they grossly undercharge. Sometimes though, all it takes is a little perspective shift all the way to the other end of the scale, to help them see what their price should be. This walk through was in Brisbane CBD stores. Can you guess where we went?
