A home for Rugby supporters, a place to socialise and share our love for the game, and raise funds to grow the game

About us

Rugby is the world's most popular contact sport. But is the birthplace of Aussie Rules, lovers of the game they play in heaven are well and truly outnumbered. The rugby club of Victoria was founded to provide a home for rugby players, supporters and fans, a place where we can come together and share our love of the game, raise funds to support its growth in Victoria and through our actions demonstrate to Victorians the values of rugby. We are completely independent grassroots organisation with no affiliation to any club, professional team or sporting body. We want to organise all lovers of the game to join us in a welcoming environment where you can share your stories and openly admit your own allegiances without being belittled.

  • If you are visiting Melbourne for the Test in Melbourne then consider this event. See the MCG in its raw and lit up at night. A great event and we hope to see many locals as well as interstate and overseas travellers come together to celebrate what we love about Rugby.

  • One of our own publishing a deep and insightful reflection of what it was like to live through a period of uncertainty and heartbreak, and a result that leaves many of us Melbourneites in a haze wondering what just happened or more importantly now what will happen

Three weeks post-launch and feedback from readers for my new book has been overwhelmingly positive and humbling. Some examples... "There are few books that I have read that have had such an impact on me" "I also wanted to commend your incredibly humane approach when revealing unexpected details behind the scenes with staff and players" "The author brings you into the boardroom and change rooms, and it's fascinating to see people continue to perform under such pressure and uncertainty" "Your book is a wonderful tonic to what was and still is an incessant tirade of noisy ignorance" Looking to treat yourself to an early Xmas gift? Available now in paperback and ebook from The Nile, Amazon, Booktopia, Kobo, Waterstones and others...

  • The fifth in our series of podcasts was a last minute addition but is well worth a listen. Post the Wales series we looked for some insight into what to expect from Georgia and thanks to Rama Chand we got that and some. This podcast was recorded before the Japan and Australia tests, both of which now in hindsight show how much Georgia has progressed and how they sit just off the Tier 1 Teams, but when you listen to the podcast and understand the structure in Georgia then and only then do you get the significance of where they sit in the Rugby landscape. Rama has an extensive CV within Rugby and his insight into Georgia and other Tier 2 Rugby Nations, the challenges of becoming and the opportunities should they become a Tier 1, provides riveting listening. Well worth a listen and please share with others and watch this space for what is next. If you would like to suggest someone who you would like to listen to then we endeavour to track that person down. www.LINKTR.EE/RCVPODCAST Rugby Victoria Rugby Australia Georgia Rugby Union #rugby #rugbyunion #rugbyinvictoria
