Here at The Lift Consultancy (TLC), we are passionate about providing our clients with impartial specialised advice within all aspects of vertical transportation systems. Whilst vertical transportation is typically pushed down the priorities list in most buildings’ strategy planning, the reality is, that vertical transportation within any building is one of the most important assets, providing access for everybody frequenting the building. The team at TLC has extensive experience in the vertical transportation industry, with an in-depth knowledge of the National Construction Code, Australian & European standards, equal access requirements, the latest technologies, and product costs. TLC offers a variety of consultancy services ranging from maintenance and compliance auditing, mandatory safety inspections, design and documentation of vertical transportation modernisations, full replacements & new design, third-party fully comprehensive maintenance contracts with embedded annual auditing, evaluation of insurance claims, peer review, witness testing, feasibility studies, due diligence & capital planning. Being an independent consultancy business, TLC prides itself in providing our clients with specialised impartial, unbiased advice and opinions, relating to all matters concerning vertical transportation systems within a building. Our clients vary from Building Owners, Body Corporates, Property Management Companies, Insurance Companies, Engineers, and Architects. Our goal at TLC is to respond to our client’s vertical transportation needs in a timely and professional manner whilst providing consultancy services our clients will find of immeasurable value.

Big changes in the world of ☎ telecommunications, and it directly impacts 🛗lift operations. Between ⌛ December 2023 and September 2024, major telecom giants like Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone are bidding farewell to their 3G networks. Why? They're paving the way for newer, faster services. But what does this mean for you and your lift's connectivity?   Well, buckle up! Here's the lowdown: if your lift is currently relying on a 3G GSM unit powered by a Vodafone SIM card, as of December 15, 2023, that trusty telephone line within your lift cabin has ceased to function unless prior action has happened. Translation? With no phone line, it is likely non-compliant 🛑 and won't serve its purpose of being a lifeline for people trapped inside the 🛗lift.   That's where we come in. At The Lift Consultancy, we're sending out a clarion call to all 🏢 building owners, strata managers, and facilities managers to take action pronto! It's time to ensure that all lift telephones are in tip-top shape, fully operational, and compliant. We're talking about a reliable lifeline for those stuck inside the lift cabin.   So, what's the game plan? We highly recommend reaching out to your lift maintenance provider ASAP to check if your system relies on a 3G unit. If it does, here's the key tip: opt for a third-party GSM device as an alternative to the direct solution provided by lift companies. Why? Simple. While lift companies offer their own GSM devices, they tend to be proprietary and often fall short compared to third-party alternatives.   Now, here's the kicker: proprietary solutions might lock you in. If you decide to switch service providers, you could find yourself having to purchase a brand-new GSM unit because the incoming lift company won't be able to use your existing one.   That's where we excel!
