Have Your Say! This survey will help understand the barriers and enablers to participation in the new life-saving National Lung Cancer Screening Program that's officially starting in July 2025. Have your say if you're an organisation representing a priority population disproportionately impacted by lung cancer, or you're an individual/consumer and you believe your organisation would be interested in sharing your own personal experiences and perspective. The National Lung Cancer Screening Program will use a low-dose CT scan to detect lung cancer in asymptomatic at-risk Australians. When lung cancer is detected early improved outcomes and cure are possible. At-risk Australians will be able to have a free lung scan every two years. Your insights will help ensure people who need the program can access it. Learn more and complete the survey here: https://lnkd.in/gimgpKRw

Did you know WAAMH Conference Diamond Partner Richmond Wellbeing has been Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Western Australians for nearly 50 years. As there is no one path to mental health wellness, Richmond Wellbeing takes a person-centred approach to recovery, guided by the voice of lived experiences, ensuring all our services are tailored to meet each individual's needs. Our outreach, supported accommodation and NDIS services are recovery-orientated, which means those with lived experience of mental health challenges and/or recovery and their families/carers are at the heart of what we do. Our second keynote speaker on Day 2 of the Conference is Natasha Short who hails form the East Kimberly and has spent the past 25 years working within community development, focusing on social improvements for Indigenous people. Natasha founded Kimberley Jiyigas (Birds) to be a collective of Aboriginal women whose heritage links them personally to the Kimberley region. She works hard to join Indigenous talents, skills, passions, experience and networks to build a movement that champions Kimberley Indigenous Women and facilitates cultural and social change not only across the Kimberley, but abroad, right across this nation we call our home. She enjoys motivating individuals, groups, teams, businesses and organisations to initiate and embrace change for the betterment and firmer positioning in their respective fields. #solutionsinmotions And thanks Event & Conference Co. for all your work this week to help bringing such a brilliant Conference to the WA mental health sector.

The 2024 WA Mental Health Conference has kicked off with incredible energy! Our theme this is 'Solutions In Motion.' We were honored to begin with a moving Welcome to Country by Robyn Collard, beautifully accompanied by her grandson on the didgeridoo. Following this, our Master of Ceremonies, Di Darmody, sat down for an inspiring and heartfelt conversation with Australian actress and producer Claudia Karvan, OAM. Claudia shared her personal experiences as a carer and family member supporting someone living with mental health challenges, leaving the audience both touched and empowered. We’re so excited for the next day and a half of connecting, learning, and celebrating mental health in WA.
