We at Tixel already know this of Zac Leigh, Jason Webb, and Denis Mysenko but we’re thrilled that The Australian has also recognised them amongst Australia’s Top 100 Innovators of 2024 🎉 Tixel was born out of a terrible ticketing experience that drove them to build something that would bring about change for the industry. This led to the creation of an ethical, tech-led ticket marketplace that provides value to both fans and event organisers, and most importantly makes ticket resale safe, fair, and accessible for all fans 🎫 This accolade couldn’t be achieved without the support of a passionate, global team, our partners, and the millions of fans who have put their trust in us since the beginning. Thank you to The Australian for recognising our amazing founders and thank you everyone who’s been part of our journey—we’re excited for what’s next 🙌 #music #liveevents #tech #innovation #awards https://lnkd.in/gwh3YTh4

We’re ending our week off with another exciting new partnership - this time with hometown heroes The Amity Affliction on their Let The Ocean Take Me - 10 Year Anniversary Tour across Australia 🌊 Formed in 2003 in Gympie, Queensland, their heavy, hard-hitting riffs and emotional lyrics have helped put Australian metalcore on the map. The tour will celebrate the 10th anniversary one of their most critically acclaimed albums with the band performing it in its entirety alongside other fan favourites in their discography. Thank you The Amity Affliction and UNIFIED Music Group for joining us on our mission to help more fans across Australia in a safe, fair, and accessible way 🎫 #partnership #ticketing #livemusic #music

We’re excited to announce yet another partnership - this time with British pop-punk legends You Me At Six on their The Final Nights Of Six farewell tour across the US, UK, Europe and Australia 🌏 Known for their energetic blend of pop-punk, alternative rock, and post-hardcore, the band gained prominence in the late 2000s with their debut album “Take Off Your Colours” and have been a staple in the UK rock scene ever since. Thanks to You Me At Six and Raw Power Management for joining us on our mission to help more fans across the world experience these final shows in a safe, fair, and accessible way, and thank you Andre Paine and Music Week for helping us shout about this one 🎫 “We really admire artists that show the kind of dedication to their fans that You Me At Six does, from announcement to encore. We agree – people shouldn’t have to pay grossly marked up prices to access tickets and no-one should be left outside the venue with a fake ticket in hand. We’re excited to support the band in making this final tour a memorable experience for as many fans as possible.” - Matt Kaplan, Head of UK and Europe https://lnkd.in/g2MY3hYv #partnership #music #touring #livemusic #ticketing

NSW festivals had a win last week and per Mitch Wilson, it's going to be a game changer 🎉 Thanks to the tireless work of the Australian Festival Association, the NSW government fully accepted the proposed reforms resulting in $500,000 in grants and a simpler set of rules. The festival landscape has undoubtedly had a rough run in the last few years however, our latest ticketing report showed that there's a sense of optimism across live events in general, and that we’re in somewhat of a regenerative moment in festival land 🌱 You can read up on the changes in Lars Brandle's piece in The Music Network here: https://lnkd.in/gs2E7qKB While there's more work to be done, for now we celebrate this win on behalf of the festivals we know and love. For more insights into the current live events landscape, check out our 2024 Ticketing State of Play Report - link is in the comments 🔗 #australia #livemusic #festival

Have concert ticket prices reached a tipping point? Music industry journalist Christie Eliezer recently penned a summary in Mixdown Magazine to explore one of the most debated topics in music right now 🎵 Oasis’s (first) return to the main stage since 2009 has sparked conversations about dynamic pricing, who’s really in charge of ticketing decisions, fairness to fans, and a lot more. In his article, Christie analysed how things went down 💸 He rounded up some great industry commentary and stats around ticket prices (including numbers and insights on our very own Tixel x Bolster Group 2024 Ticketing State of Play Report), and found that the answer appears to be both Yes and No. Christie cited a 40% increase this year (from $87 in 2022) in ticket prices and our recent 2024 Ticketing State of Play Report showed that $161 was what most Aussies are prepared to pay for a stadium show by an international act (and both figures fall short of an Oasis ticket) 🎫 Yet, 2 in 3 Aussies reported going to the same or more events than they did the year prior begging the question: Even if we don't like it, perhaps the "big acts" are immune to price sensitivity? 🤔 For a deeper dive into pricing trends and fan sentiment (we surveyed nearly 3,000 Aussie event-goers), check out the Tixel x Bolster Group 2024 Ticketing State of Play: Australia report. And we're back with the Tixel fam intros 🌟 To end off the week we have Hui Min, our Social & Design Specialist who's always in the know about everything happening everywhere all at once and always keeps the Tixel brand looking fresh with her designs 💻 ✨ What do you love about working at Tixel? I love music and pop culture references (I'm chronically online) - so getting to talk about them all the time with my manager Shaunni when we brainstorm ideas and through our social content is a dream come true for me. On the design side, I love how the live music industry is so vibrant and fun, so it gives me lots of room to be creative with our visual brand identity. ✨ What’s your most memorable interaction you've had with a fan? I make all the social media content for Tixel and I love finding out that our fans can relate to the memes and funny jokes we make about music and experiences going to festivals and concerts or buying tickets. They’re also usually inspired by stories and experiences that Team Tixel shares internally, so I love that we have heaps of things in common with the community we serve. I also interact with fans on the daily because I reply to the fans in the comments and I love having these micro-conversations about music and our favourite artists with our community. There was one time I made memes specifically about hardcore and metalcore (the two genres that I’m really passionate about). I thought they were too niche but somehow people loved them and shared them to their stories and left nice comments too. ✨ What’s on your lineup this year? There’s only less than 3 months left in the year but I’ve managed to squeeze as much in as I possibly can. I’m going to Paradigm Black this weekend, and might be going to Knockout Outdoor the following week. Then I’m seeing I Hate Models in Singapore, then I’m heading to the UK for Outbreak Fest. While I’m in Europe I’m also seeing Chelsea Wolfe and Baroness in Germany. Finally, I’m ending the year off with my usual Good Things Festival when I get back to Melbourne (I go every year!) #meettheteam #peopleandculture #socialmedia #graphicdesign
