Tourism Noosa joined 37 Queensland tourism operators on a mission to North America, to meet and energise travel buyers and drive international holiday visitors to Noosa. The North American market is slowly coming back, and before COVID, were our largest spending market per visitor. During the mission, Tourism Noosa met with over 300 influential sales agents and product managers on virtual and face-to-face appointments. This activity is crucial to grow, market and promote knowledge of Noosa, encouraging agents to include the destination on their itineraries when planning their clients’ holidays to Australia. Noosa will be easier to access than ever before, with Queensland having more aviation capacity from the North American market in history, and the extra attention Brisbane will receive in the lead-up to the Olympic Games. Noosa was the shining star at the event, with Tourism & Events Queensland using a large hero shot of Noosa as their backdrop at the welcome event held in Colorado. Tourism Noosa members interested in working with trade partners can contact our International Marketing manager Vynka Hutton - vynka@tourismnoosa.com.au

We kicked off our tourism accessibility assessments for accommodation, restaurants and retailers today with Kerry Williams from Accessible Accommodation (The Accessible Group) and @Accessible Experiences. Thank you to the 18 businesses who are taking the time to show Kerry around to hear how they can be more welcoming and accessible for the 1 in 5 Australians who have a disability. There are many simple and cost-effective ways businesses can make a difference for travellers with a range of disabilities, and we hope to see Noosa further embracing this. The region already has some great experiences to offer – from the Noosaville Foreshore to Noosa Main Beach boardwalk, beach mat and Noosa National Park, Hinterland Adventure Playground and Noosa Botanic Gardens, and many businesses that already offer wonderful facilities. You can find out about some of these experiences at https://lnkd.in/g4GZ8_iX Kerry is pictured with Tingirana Noosa's Front Office Manager Charlotte at today’s assessment – Tingirana has 2 wheelchair-accessible rooms, an amazing beachfront pool that’s accessible via an elevator and pool hoist, and an excellent accessible resort bathroom. This week’s assessments are part of our Accessible Noosa project, thanks to a Boosting Accessible Tourism Grant from the Queensland Government.
