Australia is shooting for the moon, with a Queensland company leading the way to build the nation's first lunar rover. 🌙 EPE. Trusted To Protect has been named as the grantee and co-lead of the ELO2 consortium, which was selected by the Australian Space Agency to build the lunar 'Roo-ver'. Work on the $42 million project will start immediately while the agency finalises details with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration to secure a launch opportunity. The Roo-ver, which will be entirely designed, manufactured, tested and operated from Australia, will undertake a science mission on the moon to understand the lunar surface. Leading universities, SMEs and industry giants from across Australia have contributed towards the project, which is expected to drive innovation in a wide range of industries. Did you know that Gardasil, developed in Queensland, has become one of the most effective vaccines to fight cervical cancer globally? In India, cervical cancer is the second most prevalent cancer among women, impacting 18 out of every 100,000 women aged 15-44. In 2023, the country reported about 340,000 cases, the highest number in Asia. Gardasil vaccine was licensed in India in 2008 and since then has been effecting in fighting cervical cancer, reducing HPV infections by 86%. Aligned with the World Health Organization's goal to eradicate cervical cancer by reducing cases to fewer than 4 per 100,000 women, Gardasil plays a pivotal role in India’s vaccination efforts, offering a transformative opportunity to create a future where cervical cancer is not only treatable but entirely preventable. ENEOS, Japan’s largest oil company, will significantly increase its production of green hydrogen in Queensland. Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates joined ENEOS executives and TIQ CEO Justin McGowan GAICD in Tokyo to announce the construction of a $200 million demonstration plant, which will be built at Brisbane’s Bulwer Island. The project will create more than 100 jobs and produce up to 680kg of green hydrogen per day. The green hydrogen will be in the form of methylcyclohexane (MCH), a carrier liquid that can be transported at room temperature and normal pressure.
