People. Power. Possibilities. Leading the transition to a clean energy future.
About us
We’ve ensured the smooth operation of over 13,085 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 128 substations and switching stations across NSW and the ACT, with interconnections to QLD and VIC. Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation. We’re making the right decisions now to prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead – a changing climate, population growth and technology innovation. As we lead the way towards a more resilient future, we’re working closely with our customers and communities to make sure no one is left behind. Wherever you are in NSW or the ACT, you can be confident in the reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity we transmit as we make a better power system for generations to come.

🙌Our #EnergyConnect team has been out and about, meeting the incredible recipients of Transgrid’s Community Partnerships Program. This program helps fund not-for-profits making a real difference in the communities that are local to our planning, operations and major project areas. https://brnw.ch/21wQTQK We’re proud to support 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 - 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 (𝗖𝗘𝗙) in funding beyond-secondary-school education. Engagement Lead Paul McFadyen recently attended the CEF presentation night to award the 2025 grant to Hugh White, who’s studying Economics & Finance at the University of Wollongong. 🎓👏 Hugh shared how CEF’s support eases the cost of living away from home, provides mentorship, and even helped him secure employment. A big thank you to CEF for supporting local youth and creating brighter futures. We recently partnered with our delivery partner, GenusPlus Group, to complete a crucial 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝟵𝟱 to help reduce bushfire risks in the Hunter region and improve network reliability. Refurbishment work was carried out on 14 towers and a section of the line between Newcastle and Killingworth. 🦺With highly skilled teams and the same strong commitment to safety, we delivered essential upgrades to support a more reliable and resilient energy network. Project Manager Md Rifatul shared: “The job included replacing insulators and fittings, earthwire bonding, spacer replacements, conductor vibration damper replacements, replacing tower bolts, abrasive blasting, painting, and stub leg remediation works. 👏 A big thank you to the Genus Infrastructure team and our Delivery team for their dedication to excellence and safety. 👇Check out the video from GenusPlus to see the project in action! #EnergyInfrastructure #SafetyFirst #renewables #energutransition Md Rifatul Islam Leva Mehregan Hamid Taherinia

It’s a wrap on the 2025 Energy Consumers Australia Foresighting Forum! The Foresighting Forum is a one-of-a-kind energy conference that puts consumers at its centre. This year’s theme, 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 ⚡, explored critical topics including energy equity, fair value, justice, and ownership. It emphasised the importance of addressing the diverse needs and expectations of all Australians to create a more affordable, clean, and reliable energy system. We were proud to sponsor the ‘Consumer Advocate Program,’ which enabled a range of consumer and community advocates to attend and actively participate in the Forum, ensuring their voices were included in the conversation. 🎤 🌟It was inspiring to hear from thought leaders, industry experts, and consumer advocates about the opportunities and challenges in building an energy system that benefits all Australians. 🌍 📖For valuable insights, please visit: https://brnw.ch/21wQOWv #FF25 #ChargingForward #EnergyConsumers #renewables Jane Deane Belinda Ackermann

🚁 Flying drones near our infrastructure? Here’s what you need to know! Did you know that flying uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) like drones, kites, or model aircraft near Transgrid infrastructure can pose safety risks? Our substations, transmission lines, and telecommunication sites require clear airspace to ensure safe and reliable network operations. To help keep everyone informed and protected from potential risks, we’ve developed a UAV Fact Sheet https://lnkd.in/gD9ggrBc outlining: ✅ No flying safety zones ✅ Safety and compliance requirements ✅ Pre-flight checklist 📌 For more on our Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle Fact Sheet and Easement Guidelines, visit: https://lnkd.in/g-ZjPV6F #DroneSafety #UAV #InfrastructureSafety #StaySafe #communitysafety

🔙 Throwback Thursday with Transgrid! 🔙 As our transmission network continues to grow and evolve to meet the ever-increasing energy demands of NSW and the ACT, we continue to innovate and adapt to a changing energy landscape.⚡️🔋 👀One of those innovations can be seen in our substation equipment, where we progressed from maintenance intensive oil or air blast circuit breakers to modern gas insulated circuit breakers that need far less maintenance, and operate to switch off network faults within 50ms to maintain system security and reliability. 👉Find out more about our major transmission and innovation projects here: https://brnw.ch/21wQEPY #throwback #throwbackthursday #energy #history #transmission #technology #makingitpossible

👚Last Friday, members of our employee-led Energise Network for gender equality teamed up with Aurecon for a meaningful day of volunteering at Dress for Success NSW & ACT—an organisation dedicated to empowering women to thrive in work and in life by providing professional attire, career coaching, and support for women entering or re-entering the workforce. 👗👜From sorting clothing donations to participating in a hands-on styling session, our team saw firsthand how something as simple as the right outfit can boost confidence and open doors to new opportunities, helping women to overcome bias and barriers to achieve economic independence. 🙌A huge thank you to Dress for Success for the incredible work you do and to Aurecon for partnering with us on this initiative.
