Celebrating Character in Action: A Lesson from My Daughter Quinn So proud of the amazing person our daughter Quinn is and how she's crafting her character and skills every day. This Christmas, she set her sights on building the Disney Lego Castle – an ambitious project of over 4,400 pieces. She was thrilled to receive it as a gift and, despite having a broken arm, she took on the challenge. Piece by piece, following three thick books of instructions, Quinn literally single-handedly brought this meticulous structure to life, all on her own. Her determination and vision were inspiring to watch. She demonstrated autonomy, diligence, collaboration, and a passion for seeing her project through to completion. When Quinn was little, we told her Santa is real—and she believed it. This Christmas, we told her she could build the castle on her own—and she believed that too. It’s a powerful reminder that what we tell people, they believe. If we affirm their character strengths, they’ll grow into them. If we focus on their flaws, they’ll grow into those too. This is something we call "The Language of Character" at ShareTree - Charity. As parents, teachers, friends and leaders, we nurture the character strengths of ones nature.
