Do you have a pet? 🐶 🐱 🦜 You should know about this: HomeSafeID, a microchip registry used by vets and shelters around Australia, has stopped operating. This means that if your pet is registered with HomeSafeID and gets lost, they will have no way of getting back to you because the identification data linked to their microchip will no longer work.   Here's how to check if your pet has been affected: 

With the sudden shutdown of the HomeSafeID microchip registry in Australia, thousands of pets are now at risk of becoming untraceable if lost.   This is a critical moment for pet safety. One of the recent emergency hospitals to get going with Vedi is Animal Emergency Service Underwood, located southeast of Brisbane. Patient admission in the emergency setting is a high-pressure, high-emotion environment magnified by the lack of medical background and critical information—more often than not, relying on a pet parent to remember. With Vedi, that needn't be so. Vedi is helping emergency hospitals streamline the admission process, saving a huge amount of time for the veterinary teams — over 20 minutes in many cases. If a pet's regular GP is Vedi-powered, it can be admitted into the ER in seconds. There is no filling out forms or manual data entry. Just a scan of the microchip and some necessary verification of the pet owner. Vedi also instantly notifies regular GPs nationwide if their patients have been admitted to an ER, giving them valuable information and the opportunity to respond and provide timely information to support the best outcomes. It's a hugely exciting addition to our product suite, but it is just the beginning... We are developing discharge summaries and health data transmissions that seamlessly integrate into regular or referring GPs' practice software for follow-up care.
