Effective 1 January 2025, Victoria's Vacant Residential Land Tax will expand state-wide to all residential properties vacant for more than six months in the preceding calendar year. Property owners must self-report such vacancies to the State Revenue Office by 15 January each year. As from 18 November 2024, there will be increases to the fees payable for probate and letters of administration applications filed in the Supreme Court of Victoria. The new schedule of fees represents a significant increase on the current fees, and will no doubt cause our executor and administrator clients some concern.
