A huge thank you to everyone who attended my 5-minute pitch, shared advice, and offered support today! We felt incredibly fortunate to be part of the start-up pods alongside the brilliant team at Veterinary Nutritional Group such as Matt Kopke who offer personalised nutritional consults for pets, and Keefe Tay at Furry Munchkins Pet Photography who captures beautiful images of pets and vet clinics. It was also fantastic to meet other inspiring start-ups and connect with many of you in person. Thank you for stopping by—until next time! #ThePetOncologist #TheVETExpo #VetStartups #ThankYou #VetCommunity

What can I say?! #TheVETEXPO2024 was amazing!!! Two days full of meeting new, wonderful people, meeting people I have only connected with through social media, and reuniting with many friends from way back. All of us work and are dedicated to the veterinary profession in so many areas—some I have never heard of! THE PITCH was fantastic. There are so many innovative ideas out there. The equipment? Well, I've been looking for a new ultrasound, and they are way more than I have seen or imagined now. Thank you, Amanda Liversage and all of your people, for the opportunity to chair a session and speak about my passion, The Future of Veterinary Women. Here are some of my slides (Thank you, Elizabeth Braddon, for the photos) showing what a veterinary woman's career looks like. #veterinarywomen #vetmedicine #vetsurgery #vetmums

Wow, #vetexpo2024! I'm not quite sure how to wrap-up such a jam packed event. Here's to all the amazing discussions had about pain management (thanks particularly to Zoetis and Dr Megan Lui for facilitating a great roundtable on osteoarthritis), plus conversations about palliative philosophies of care and access (it was brilliant to finally connect on this one Dr Zara Boland and Dr Simone Maher, and for so beautifully flying the IAAHPC - The International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care flag with me Dr Anupam Sharma BVSc MANZCVS (SAM) DipMgt CHPV CMFT (even though paths crossed in the night). To Judy Gillespie and Vetanswers - your online veterinary community, a special shout out. We are so grateful as always for the ongoing support of the palliative care message. To my Sydney (and also some of our Brisbane) Sunset Vets Palliative and End of Life Care team, catch-ups are always the best with you. I wish we could do these in person more! And to all my amazing End of Life Care panel members, thank you for joining me on this one. 🙏 We might need a separate post to break down all the great tips and tricks you shared with us all, but they were helpful and sparked lots of thoughts that might need a follow-up at next year's event. Amanda Liversage thank you for your tireless efforts in the coordination of this event. I so hope you get to put your feet up today. And next up - some last minute preparations for our AVPCAC Palliative Care Conference, Sat Nov 2. 1 week to go! Tickets are still available so come join us if you're free - www.avpcac.com/conference.
