Our Restructuring & Recovery Director Ashley Leslie CA, RITP, CCE was recently featured in Inside Small Business advising SMEs to avoid relying solely on Christmas sales to turn around struggling businesses. “Relying on the holidays to boost profits can be risky if your business is already in financial distress. It may only add to your debt,” says Ashley. Instead, early intervention with a team of restructuring and recovery experts can make all the difference. If you're facing challenges, don’t wait. Our specialist Carissa Lacey recently made two impactful trips to the Gold Coast, presenting on key topics in business and family law valuations. She shared valuable insights into valuation theory and practical strategies, particularly for accountants and lawyers. Her session on family law valuations, especially in cases where a business is the primary asset, highlighted real-life solutions for complex, unique situations – proving that accounting can be both engaging and essential. #businessvaluation #forensicaccounting #vincents
Two trips made to the Gold Coast last week to present on two important topics: 1️⃣ The basics of business valuation; and 2️⃣ Family law valuations where the business is the primary asset. The first is a really great tool for accountants and lawyers to understand the foundations of valuation theory, with some practical insights along the way. Until you can understand why particular valuation methodologies are adopted and the drivers of value, it is impossible to provide meaningful advice to your clients. The second is my favourite so far. Some real life examples of pathways to be considered where the matrimonial pool is largely tied up in a business unlikely or unable to be sold. Every circumstance is unique and there is never a one-size-fits-all approach. Sometimes, it’s a combination of several different solutions. I really enjoy running these sessions with such engaged groups, proving that accounting isn’t as boring as people might think 😉 #businessvaluation #forensicaccounting
