WA Cricket is the governing body of cricket in WA, overseeing the development of the game throughout our State.

About us

Established in 1885, the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) is the governing body of cricket in WA and oversees the development of the game of cricket across the state. We are the principal administrator of the elite WA Cricket male and female teams, the Perth Scorchers, and the WA Premier Cricket competition. Our vision is to be leaders in Australian Cricket and, together with Cricket Australia, make cricket Australia’s favourite sport. We strive to create a friendly camaraderie, sense of excitement and lasting feeling of pride for our employees, while encouraging staff to continually strive for excellence. We support a healthy work-life balance and provide our staff with opportunities to learn, develop and contribute to the Association’s success. We are passionate about our How We Play behaviours – Be real, Smash the boundaries, Make every ball count and Stronger together – which define how we work. We treat everyone with dignity and respect and value diversity, and take pride in being an equal opportunity employer. The WACA Ground officially opened in 1893 and is home to the state’s elite cricket teams, as well as providing a base for the Association’s Administration.

As the WA Cricket Foundation celebrates International Day of People with Disability today, we wanted to recognise and celebrate those of all abilities who take part in cricket. As one of the Foundation’s pillars, People with a Disability, we work closely with specialists, stakeholders and our incredibly giving donors to ensure cricket is a sport which welcomes everyone, today and every day. Our inclusive programs, such as Star Blast and Inclusion Academy ensure children and young adults are provided with a safe space to be active, participate in their favourite sport and make new friends in a safe environment. • Cricket bringing together girls, we love to see it! Recently our WA Cricket Under 16s and Under 19s girls united to lead a community training session at the WACA Ground! With a number of different skill based training games dotted around the ground, the girls got to show their skills in front of their cricketing heroes. The girls got to ask the players some questions at the end of the session and hear more about what it’s like to play professional cricket. #HerCricketHerWay #WomenGirlsWeek #WBBL10 #10YearsStrong

It was brilliant to be at the ODI at Perth Stadium on Sunday - the first International cricket in Perth this summer. Looking forward to seeing all the action and activity around the West Test next weekend. Fantastic to have a handful of WA Cricket players in both squads, with ODI Captain our wicketkeeper Josh Inglis. Looking forward to seeing our WA guys out in action. WA Cricket

  • WA Cricket is welcoming in this year’s national Women and Girls Week with a look at a recent Women in Cricket Leadership Network Peer Mentoring event we recently hosted. During the event, attendees heard from WA Cricket new CEO John Stephenson and were able to meet like-minded women who share the same interests, before watching a cracking game of cricket at the WACA. Here at WA Cricket, we are passionate about women and girls participating, connecting and feeling part of the team, not just with cricket, but with each other. We can’t wait to celebrate some incredible achievements from a few outstanding women and girls in our community this week! #HerCricketHerWay #WomenGirlsWeek #WBBL10 #10YearsStrong WA Cricket Foundation Perth Scorchers
