Australian infrastructure, property development and investment management company with a rich history in Toowoomba.

About us

Wagner Corporation is a family owned Australian infrastructure and property development company with a rich history in the Toowoomba Region. As developers and owners of a 40-tonne wharf on the Brisbane River and several key infrastructure assets, the company sets a high standard for intrepid development. As proprietors of 5-year old Wellcamp Business Park and Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport, Australia’s first greenfield public airport in almost 50 years and the first privately funded airport ever in the country, Wagner Corporation has successfully expanded the company’s capabilities into the aviation sector. In September 2018 the Qantas Group announced Toowoomba in southern Queensland as the first of two regional locations for its new Pilot Academy, due to open its doors by mid-2019. The Academy, which will be delivered by Wagner Corporation at it's Wellcamp Business Park site, is part of the Qantas Group’s strategy to build a long-term talent pipeline for its own airlines and help the broader industry meet the increasing need for skilled aviators.

  • Last Friday leading Australians gathered in #Toowoomba to mark a significant milestone for one of Queensland's most influential family businesses—Wagner Corporation and the Wagner Family Group —as the family celebrates 35 years in business and the 10th anniversary of the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport (WTB). To mark the occasion, a luncheon celebration saw the family joined by friends and guests including opposition leader, The Hon. Peter Dutton MP and leader of the National Party, The Hon. David Littleproud MP, speaker of the House of Representatives, Milton Dick MP, state leader of KAP, Robbie Katter, and other key business leaders, dignitaries and stakeholders who gathered to honour the past, celebrate the present and look ahead to a bold future for the family group, the region and Queensland. And to add a touch of razzle, dazzle to the event, Australian superstar, Delta Goodrem entertained the crowd with a very special performance. The celebrations reflected on the early days, when in 1989 the Wagner family established the construction materials and infrastructure business, known as Wagners, before highlighting how in the 35 years since the family group of companies has grown to become a cornerstone of Queensland’s industrial, transport and infrastructure landscape. To everyone who has journeyed with us over the past 35 years, we are extremely thankful. #WagnerCorporation #WellcampAirport #DeltaGoodrem #Queensland #Aerospace #FamilyBusiness #Leadership #Wagner35 #Toowoomba #Australia

  • On Sunday, at the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport (WTB), we welcomed families and community members from across the region to celebrate 10 years of the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport. Like any good birthday celebration, there was a whole lot of fun to be had. From games and kids’ activities through to food trucks and a beer garden, there was something for everyone. We held a car show with some spectacular motors on show, while Queensland Defence, Queensland Police Service and CareFlight all showed up to engage with the crowd. The fun didn’t end there. Country music legend Lee Kernaghan headlined a series of brilliant musical performances throughout the event to keep the crowds engaged. Thank you once again to everyone who joined us to celebrate 10 years of Wellcamp Airport and make the celebrations memorable. Here’s to many more years of success and community connection. Stay tuned for more exciting events and updates as we continue to grow and serve our region. #WellcampAirport #CommunityFunDay #Wagner #WagnerCorporation #LeeKernaghan #Celebration

  • Wagner recently joined industry partners including Boeing, the Queensland Government’s Department of State Development and Infrastructure, Qantas, LanzaJet and LanzaTech for a roundtable on Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). Boeing used the SAF round table to announce its commitment to early-stage investment into the Wagner Sustainable Fuels-led SAF project, which will use technology developed by LanzaTech to convert waste into ethanol - and in turn convert the ethanol into sustainable aviation fuel. SAF reduces CO2 emissions by up to 84% compared to petroleum jet fuel and Wagner Sustainable Fuels CEO Matt Doyle says Boeing’s investment marks a critical step forward in Wagner’s efforts to increase Australian SAF supply. “On the back of that investment, we’ve been able to commence the pre-feed work which will advance the project to a stage where we can make our next investment decision.” he said. “Together with Boeing and our other partners, we are looking forward to bringing SAF to Australia and championing a sustainable future for everyone.” See below a great video Boeing put together during the roundtable. #SAF #sustainability #wagnercorporation #aviation #Queensland #future

This moment in time. This investment in Australia. Will make a real difference toward decarbonising the aviation industry by 2050. -- Brian Moran, Boeing's Chief Sustainability Officer. Thanks to Wagner Sustainable Fuels, Queensland Government's Department of State Development and Infrastructure, Qantas, LanzaJet, LanzaTech and other industry partners for joining us at our sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) roundtable last week, where we announced our early investment in Australia's first SAF refinery.

  • Wagner Corporation is proud to announce that we have partnered with Skyports Infrastructure to explore air taxi vertiport development opportunities across Queensland. The partnership builds on our recent joint efforts with Skyports and Wisk to establish an Entry-into-Service (EIS) network for autonomous air taxis in South-East Queensland.  Working with Skyports, we are identifying and developing key vertiport locations around Brisbane and throughout Queensland.  We’re also evaluating the potential to develop a regional air taxi vertiport at Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport, Australia’s first privately funded public airport. We will look to collaborate with electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) companies, State Governments and local authorities to build world class Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) infrastructure in Queensland. Wagner Corporation chairman John Wagner says: “It’s vital to start work on eVTOL infrastructure to have enough sites approved and operational in the lead up to the launch of air taxi services and ahead of the 2032 Olympics.  “Our partnership with Skyports is a key step towards achieving this goal. In addition, Wagner Corporation intends to build vertiport and manufacturing facilities at Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport to allow all OEM operators access to a site for the construction and testing of eVTOLs for the Asia Pacific Region.” Find out more about our partnership below. #WagnerCorporation #Skyports #AAM #AirMobility #airtaxi #Queensland #Innovation #Transport #FutureOfTravel #Toowoomba

  • Wagner Corporation is hanging Joe out to Dry! Joe Wagner and Wagner Corporation are raising funds in aid of Toowoomba Hospice. On the day, Joe Wagner will be placed in a Cherry Picker and raised up into the air. To let him down, we must secure at least $5,000! However our personal goal is much higher than that and the more we raise for the Hospice the better. From Joe "Thank you in advance for your contribution to this wonderful Organisation as I am very passionate about this cause. I have personally known staff members, family and friends who have all been supported by hospice at some time.
