Before, it was a hessian sack carrying Jack Murat raw coffee beans to specialty, quality roasters throughout Australia. After, it is a circular economy terrific tote bag carrying everything for you everywhere and providing coffee roasters with a sustainable solution to reducing waste. ♻️ #circulareconomy #waronwasteau #reducereuserecycle #buyaustralianmade

Full Circle The term circular economy is increasingly becoming a part of everyday life and is the business model needed to make sustainable changes. Here is a circular journey of the Jack Murat jute coffee sacks. Jack Murat is a great coffee grower in far north Queensland, one of the few in Australia. They supply select coffee roasters with their green beans. The green beans are used by coffee roasters to create beautiful coffee blends that we as Australians consume a lot of. Mikro Coffee in Torquay use Jack Murat beans to create their beautiful blends. We work with Mikro Coffee, to save their jute sacks, that originally carried the green coffee beans, from going to landfill and turn them into terrific totes and awesome lifestyle accessories. Life is often less than six degrees of separation…. The granddaughter of Jack Murat, Rahime discovered our ‘Australian Coffee’ tote which was the OG logo the family used on the coffee sacks. The coffee sacks we saved from their client, Mikro, a sustainable partner of the War On Waste Cartel. Fast forward and we're in FNQ meeting Plum, son of the coffee farm name’s sake, and Jack, Jack Senior’s grandson, of the Murat family. And we're returning their original logo and their current logo coffee sacks as terrific totes. ♻ Jack Murat Coffee Mikro Coffee Roasters #circulareconomy #buyaustralianmade #reuseoverrecycle

War on Waste Cartel partners with Ziggy + Kit. I first came across Ziggy + Kit when I needed a good coffee in Queenscliff. Not only did I get good coffee and great customer service, I also met a wonderful woman, owner Carrie. We bonded through our love of making a difference, doing better and social enterprise entrepreneurship, and now Ziggy + Kit have joined our good cartel to reduce waste. When Queenscliff locals, holiday makers, and day trippers get great coffee they can now get WoW landfill reducing tote bags and awesome lifestyle accessories too. When you’re in Queenscliff make sure you get some great coffee from a brilliant business working to leave a softer footprint. See them on the socials: https://lnkd.in/gEm4FTPR Welcome to the War on Waste Cartel family Ziggy + Kit. ♻️ #smallstepsmakebigchanges #visitvictoria #queenscliff #sustainablepartnership #circulareconomy #slowfashion #reducewaste #waronwaste #reducereuserecycle #sustainablesolutions 5 Senses Coffee

As individuals our buying behaviours become part of the waste pollution problem. From a micro and practical level each of us can be part of the solution: ♻️ think before we buy ♻️ stop buying fast fashion When we consciously as consumers make mini tweaks to our buying behaviour we too can contribute to the change that needs to occur. #stopwaste #nofastfashion #circulareconomy #reducereuserecycle

This is where our clothes end up. Welcome to Accra, Ghana. 15 million second-hand clothes go here each week. Most of them are of such low quality, that they are dumped out in the open or burned. This has to stop!!! We need: 1. Full producer responsibility. Polluter pays 2. Local governments should ban waste imports 3. Consumers: Refuse -> reduce -> repair -> recycle 👉 Hit follow to learn more ♻ Watch and share this further PS: Creds to Elena Doms (the post I saw) and Greenpeace Africa (for the amazing investigation)

It’s that time of year, you're trying to find valued and versatile client, customer and staff Christmas gifts. It’s a challenge. Stakeholder expectations of your environmental footprint are now often the norm including when gifting. Christmas can be such a waste producing season. With food allergies, hampers are hard get right and many products are mass produced offshore. The candles burn out and well the wine, might last a night or two. This year give gifts that are locally made, landfill reducing and part of the circular economy. A purposeful product that can be used all the time, a War on Waste Cartel tote bag or other awesome accessory. Everyone uses a bag for something, WoW bags can be used for everything. The beach, farmers market, shopping, schlepping the kid’s stuff, carrying your stuff to work. The most versatile and environmentally friendly bags that are loved by all. There are options to personalise each product or co-brand with us. Reach out, tell us your needs and we’ll create some super cool Christmas presents for your business. #circulareconomy #sustainablegifts #corporategifts #sustainableoptions #reducereuserecycle #madeinaustralia #forpurposeproducts #geelongsmallbusiness #slowfashion #smallbatch #clientchristmasgifts

Give Where You Live Foundation and the Geelong community take a bow. Pitch Up was a superb success raising more than $100,000 for three wonderfully worthy organisations helping others. Kudos to the GWYL team, partners and the supporters, many who were individuals donating their money to critical causes that contribute to helping community members in need. Addressing the cost of living crisis, we heard from Thread Together, The Outpost Inc. and Feed Me and the absolute amazing work they are all doing to support communities in need. #pitchup #inourbackyard #forpurpose #communityconnections #geelong #wearegeelong Bill Mithen Kristi Clapinski Jackie Price Brooke Hyland Meg Price

How good is it when you get to meet people and businesses and you all are supportive of each other. Recently we shared some of our WoW journey with a bunch of Bcorps and brilliant businesses brought together by Ripple Surf Coast It was an awesome opportunity to connect with people wanting to, and making an impact, and sharing our insights into a ‘for purpose’ business focussed on planet, people and profit. Matty Lawrence and the team at Happy Spaces made it possible to hear heaps of impactful happenings shared by Marlaina McPhillips at Beyond Bank Australia, B Lab Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand’s Lauren Diggle. Our story sharing focussed not only on statistical achievements but we gave a glimpse into the social program we’re developing as well. What a wonderful way to connect with more people wanting to do good business. Thanks to Jeremy Crawford Geelong Chamber of Commerce and City of Greater Geelong for making this part of the Geelong Small Business Festival. Please excuse the shite selfie…I forgot to get some photos. #smallbusiness #impactbusiness #bcorp #collaborationovercompetition #torquay #inourbackyard
