We were honoured to have the Honourable Bill Shorten join us and speak passionately about the future of supported employment and the critical role organisations like Waverley play in shaping a better world for all. Waverley Social Enterprises is thrilled to be selected, alongside Intelife and genU, for the White Box Enterprises Disability Enterprise Evolve Program. This two-year initiative will support our goal of providing work for 1,000 people with disabilities, while creating a sense of joy and belonging through meaningful employment. With tailored support and funding from White Box, we’re excited to enhance our impact and continue building inclusive workplaces where everyone can thrive.

This month, we had the pleasure of hosting another corporate volunteer group from one of L'Oréal's most valued brands to the group, Lancôme, at our Notting Hill Packaging site. For many, it was their first visit to Notting Hill. We gave the team a tour of our facilities, and our Production Manager shared insights into our operations—from receiving stock to completing jobs on the production floor and delivering finished products back to L’Oréal's distribution centre. The team had the unique experience of working on one of their own upcoming products, set to launch at David Jones in a few months. Head of Brand, Melanie Craig highlighted the value of the day, noting that it was such a meaningful experience for the team that they’re keen to return soon. One of our employees, Michael, shared a heartfelt thank-you speech: "My name is Michael, and we want to thank you for coming and spending valuable times with us here in Waverley. We really appreciate and enjoy our time working together. We hope you all enjoy the time today and hope to see you back here." It’s always inspiring to see collaboration in action and the connections formed during these visits. They support us in our mission to empower people with a disability through innovative employment in both our Grounds Maintenance and Catering departments. With Victoria’s Big Build projects such as the Suburban Rail Loop and Eastern Freeway Upgrades, we look forward to deepening our partnership and opportunities. The team worked on a range of packaging jobs at our Notting Hill site. 🤝 It was wonderful to see how quickly the Laing O'Rourke team connected with our WOWs (Workmates of Waverley), making firm friends, fast!
