Hey friends, today we’re thrilled to introduce you to the wonderful Beth Wales 💫, our newest Talent Partner! 🌈🌈🌈 Beth is a vibrant force and has already hit the ground running! She’s a natural at making genuine connections between people and businesses. With a background in design, she traded Scottish rain and castles for sunshine and kangaroos, bringing her unique blend of creativity and people skills to the tech world. Her speciality at affix is in Software Engineering and Product recruitment. In true affix style, we did a wee Q+A with Beth to get the low down: ✍ Q: What lights you up? A: Trying new things, whether a new food spot, art gallery or city to explore. I also love the simplicity of spending time outdoors, it could be the beach, walking, or camping with my furbaby Freddie. Connecting with people—whether through personal friendships or professional collaborations. I find energy in building meaningful relationships and learning from others. Ultimately, it's about exploring, connecting, and embracing new experiences for me! Q: What attracted you to working at affix? A: affix’s focus on innovation and collaboration. I really resonated with affix's approach to creating meaningful solutions that make a real impact, and felt a connection to the affix values and brand and what the team represents. Upon meeting the whole team I could see why the affix way worked so well and it all clicked for me! A great bunch of people offering a brilliant recruitment experience. The opportunity to work alongside a team that values creativity and forward-thinking was also a huge plus for me, and I am so excited to be part of it now! Q: What's your superpower? A: Feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Whether it's stepping into a new role, moving to a new country or trying something outside my comfort zone, I've learned that growth is about embracing discomfort, and it can be where the best things happen! Q: What's something you've done in the last year that you're proud of? A: I have a bucket list as long as my arm! I was lucky enough to tick quite a few things off this year when I travelled for 9 months…. Summiting a mountain above 6,000m in the snow, swimming with sharks and reaching Everest base camp to name a few! Q: What's on your "lust" list, (as in things/experiences/skills you covet)? A: Buying some new artwork and prints for my home. I love the creative process and seeing it all come together. We cannot wait for you all to get to know Beth and watch her grow with affix. Sonia is honest to the core, fun, hard-working, thoughtful, kind, someone with an "always be learning" mindset, smart as a whip, leads with empathy and candor, and by "doing." Breath out. 😮💨 She just has a HUGE heart. When you're around her, you just feel good. She's calm, and she's got your back. Always. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ As our GM of Talent, Sonia's focus is to further put our customers at the heart of everything we do. She leads our Talent function in building meaningful relationships and providing valuable resources to support our job seekers and employers throughout their careers. With over two decades of recruitment and advisory experience, she has worked with diverse clients, from large corporates to startup and scaling tech businesses, recruiting across various roles including Product Management, Design, Software Engineering, and Digital Marketing. In her current role, Sonia oversees a team of Talent Partners and manages affix's brand and marketing function. She leads her team as they proactively support the entire customer lifecycle through job opportunities, events, and content. True to our affix values, she'll give everything a good go... she's always keen to test, iterate, and fail/learn along the way. Outside of work, you'll find her sharing her mum's traditional Italian recipes and showcasing her excellent caramel slice-making skills. While their three kiddos keep her and her husband busy, any free time she can sneak in is sure to consist of a good ol' walk & podcast listening session. Son - we're thrilled to see what next year brings.
