#WELC Amplifies Community Voices in September 2024 Showcasing the Power of Women in Delivering Multicultural Events WELC remains committed to our mission of empowering the community through the strength of women and addressing community needs by bringing multicultural experiences into the local area. This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, meticulously planned and executed, not only bridged community members closer but also highlighted the significant role of women in driving community development. Despite the light drizzle on a Sunday afternoon, the enthusiasm for cultural performances and festival celebrations was unwavering. The show featured the mesmerizing face-changing act, a heartwarming skit “Mid-Autumn Story” and “Returning to My Parents’ Home”, the classical dance “Feather” , solo performance of “Lu Bing Hua”, choral renditions of “Daylily” and “Wish”, and beautiful guzheng performances of “Blue and White Porcelain”, “Dream of the Red Chamber”, and “Hometown Melodies”. The captivating performances showcased the richness of Chinese culture, receiving rounds of applause from the audience. Even after the event concluded, attendees stayed behind or sent messages expressing their delight, offering high praise for the celebration. None of WELC’s successful events could be achieved without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. This Mid-Autumn Festival was no exception. Our volunteers poured tremendous passion and professionalism into planning, venue setup, and on-site coordination, ensuring the event’s smooth operation. To show our appreciation, we presented them with Volunteer Awards during the event. As a community organization dedicated to women's empowerment and community development, WELC will continue to leverage the power of women to lead the community towards a brighter future. We aim to provide more high-quality cultural events, allowing more people to experience the beauty and warmth of multiculturalism. This event is supported by Victorian Government. “Multiculturalism in Victoria is more than just diversity of cultures, languages, faiths and traditions. It is providing the systems and supports that make our shared community stronger. It is the knowledge that sharing cultures and understanding our cultural differences is a strength. It also provides a sense of belonging that contributes to the community harmony Victorians are so proud of.” #WELC #WomenEmpowerment #CommunityEngagement #MidAutumnFestival #CulturalDiversity #MulticulturalEvents #ChineseCulture #CommunityCelebration #WomenInLeadership #CommunityDevelopment #CulturalHeritage #EmpowerWomen #MelbourneEvents #Volunteers #VolunteerAppreciation #CommunitySupport #InclusiveCommunity #CelebrateCulture #CulturalExchange #DiversityAndInclusion #BuildingCommunities #WomenSupportingWomen #CulturalEventsMelbourne #StrengthInDiversity #ChineseTradition #FestivalCelebration #MelbourneCommunity #CulturalAppreciation
