Woodina was proud to host an excursion for the business students from Greenwich College yesterday.
These international students came to Australia to learn English as a second (or additional) language and have also taken part in the business language course conducted by Greenwich.
The excursion included a tour of the office and a boardroom seminar on business in Australia - including the importance of the insurance industry economically, how it works, and its history with Lloyd’s.
One of Woodina’s directors, Raoul Basile, also spoke on the fundamentals of business in general and the importance of distinguishing yourself from your competitors, using Woodina as a prime example.
The uniqueness of an underwriting agency having its own law firm to contain legal costs, and what this means in cost savings for both clients and capacity providers was something clearly appreciated by the students.
It was a fun and educational experience and really surprised the students with the scope of professions the insurance industry incorporates. Business leaders of tomorrow? Definitely.
