  • Annnnd that’s a wrap on our last WorkforClimate Academy cohort for 2024! 🎉🎓🥳 In our final Live Lab, the group came together to reflect on how far they’ve come…AND where they’ll take their newfound climate leadership skills next. Over the last 3 months, this cohort of  incredible individuals has gone deep on the need for businesses to take climate action, and learned all the tools they need to be agents of change within their current organisations. This group have learned (amongst other things!): 🔑 Why businesses hold the key to rapid and widespread climate action  ⚡️How to switch their company to 100% renewable energy 💨 How to commit (and stick to) science-aligned emissions targets 🤝 How to find allies and collaborate effectively 🥷 How to change their organisations from the inside out 👔 How to influence their bosses, boards and seniors to take climate action We couldn’t be prouder of Alex Diamis, Alex Kabysh, Amy Snoekstra, Ben Quirin, Brooke Troth, Caroline Gill, Hannah Docherty, Kaidi Ojaste, Kelly Gannon, Mark Harwood, Nadia Barbov, Nathan Ilić, Ratu Nida Farihah and the rest of this crew of changemakers. Thank you for your time, energy and enthusiasm. We can't wait to see what you do next. 🏆👀🥷 The next WorkforClimate Academy kicks off in February 2025. • Many of Australian's biggest carbon emitters are making impressive-sounding climate commitments. But who's really walking the talk? 🤔 Ahem. Not many of them. Claire Snyder and her team at Climate Integrity are on a mission to hold Australian corporations accountable for the environmental claims they make (and break). Last month, Climate Integrity made a complaint to the ACCC against Qantas for potential greenwashing – an action that led to an incredible amount of media coverage and the opportunity for Climate Integrity to engage with Qantas on their net zero strategy. For businesses who want to get on the right side of history, Claire and her team have plenty of tips for developing a net zero strategy that actually reduces emissions. Read all about it ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gWS2KCqD

  • "When I grow up, I want to be a climate intrapreneur!!!" ...said literally no one. 🙃 But only because none of us grew up knowing what a climate intrapreneur actually IS. Climate activist? Sure. Environmentalist? We know all about those. Conservationist? Jane Goodall was our idol. 🙈🌱🙉 But what on earth is an 'intrapreneur', and what does it have to do with climate action? 🤔 As you'll see below, climate intrapreneurs can have JUST as much climate impact as any of the above roles. And it's highly likely you already have all the skills you need to become one. Join the next cohort of our WorkforClimate Academy cohort to find out how ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gDtND7Tr

  • Drew Wilkinson is the poster boy for workplace climate activism. ✊🌱🛠 After taking a gig at Microsoft, Drew went on to build a 10,000-strong sustainability community of Microsoft employees across the world. We reckon that's pretty cool. Keen to follow in Drew's footsteps and turn your company into a climate leader from the inside out? • During our WorkforClimate Academy Live Lab on Friday, our current cohort came together to discuss a huge range of juicy climate topics. Things like: 🌱 How corporates can ’green’ their investments 🛠 How to influence financial supply chain emissions (eg. retirement funds) ✊ How to leverage external forces (eg. regulations and climate campaigners) to build internal support for climate action Guided by WorkforClimate’s own Lucy Piper and Patrick Corden, the cohort also learned all about becoming a ‘conductor’ of change to align diverse stakeholders on climate goals and how to handle outspoken critics. One question posed by a learner that stayed with us was: “How can we embody the change we advocate for?” If you have any bright ideas, let us know in the comments below ⬇️ And if you’re keen to find out more about the WorkforClimate Academy, you can do that here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gDtND7Tr
