About us

The City of Wyndham is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Australia. Home to more than 288,000 residents, our population is expected to reach 500,000 by 2040. We are a diverse municipality, with more than 50 per cent of our residents born overseas. We are also home to young families. The average age is 32 and more than 100 babies are born each week. Located just 30 minutes from Melbourne, we are also home to some of the most iconic tourist destinations in Victoria, including the historic Werribee Park Mansion, world-class Open Range Zoo, State Rose Garden, K Road Cliffs and the National Equestrian Centre. Spanning an area of 542 kilometres, Wyndham has a coastline that features Werribee South Beach, Point Cook Coastal Park and Wyndham Harbour. Werribee South is home to one of the most significant market garden regions in Victoria, while a large industrial and logistics area is located in Laverton North and Truganina. The City also boasts premier sporting and recreational facilities including Aquapulse, Eagle Stadium, Chirnside Park, Werribee and Sanctuary Lakes Golf Clubs and Werribee Racecourse. It will also soon be home to a $150 million 15,000-seat stadium – home to A-League team Western United. The City has recently upgraded more than 200 parks across the municipality and is investing millions of dollars creating an Active Transport Network, improving walking and cycling paths for all our residents to enjoy.

As part of our 2024 Tapestry of Culture Workshops series, 97 amazing community members came together in 7 workshops to explore and learn new traditional crafts. The outcomes from the workshops showed that participants were eager to learn and demonstrate their newfound artistic skills. We would like to thank everyone that took part in the workshop series and also a big thank you to all the facilitators: Tamara Leacock, Vicki Kinai, Samantha Bennett, Surface Paradise Workshops and Maoko Carrol, Natalia Orel and Leila Ashtiani from Space2b. Let us know what type of art workshops you would like to do in 2025?
