Yogazeit Programs Transition to Curtin University/Act Belong Commit We have some big news to share with you. As of June 30, 2024, Yogazeit has begun winding down. While this is a bittersweet moment for us, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that our popular programs will live on through a fantastic new partnership with Curtin University and Act Belong Commit. Yogazeit’s children's and teens yoga teacher trainings, the unique Indigenous Youth Yoga Teacher Training Deadly Minds™, and other online learning programs will continue to flourish at Act Belong Commit. This means even more opportunities for growth, learning, and social impact through the benefits of Mindfulness and Movement Education. We couldn’t be happier about this next chapter. Curtin University’s commitment to education and community aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re excited to see how our programs will blossom under their care. "Passing our programs on to Curtin University is a very exciting new chapter," says Regina Cruickshank, Founder of Yogazeit. "It ensures that the work we've done together over the years will continue to impact lives in meaningful ways. We can’t wait to see what the future holds." We want to take this moment to thank you – our incredible community. Your support, enthusiasm, and participation have made Yogazeit what it is today. You've helped us bring mindfulness and movement education to so many children, teens, and educators – even in some of Australia’s most remote areas - and for that, we are eternally grateful. A special thanks also to our Executive and Advisory Board who have guided Yogazeit's path and helped shape our journey with their passion and commitment. As we transition, we’ll keep you updated on all the exciting developments. For more information about the programs at Act Belong Commit/Curtin University, stay tuned to our socials. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey. This isn't goodbye – it's just a new beginning, and we’re so glad to have you with us as Yogazeit’s programs step into this exciting future. In October 2023, we filmed our Deadly Minds graduates completing their Indigenous Youth Yoga Teacher training at Karijini National Park. With thanks to a Here to Be grant from lululemon Centre for Social Impact, we have used the filming and audio captured during the training and combined this with the Deadly Minds curriculum to create a fantastic website and online training platform. The expertise, skills, knowledge, and passion of Sanz Web Development made online delivery of an in-person training possible. With their enthusiasm and attention to detail, they have expertly brought the heart of Deadly Minds online, and we could not be more proud of the end result. Ending the project by adding our first scholarships onto the platform was a massive highlight. With heartfelt special thanks to Sharnell Avery for your outstanding presentation on camera, Josie Dickinson at JKD Design for all the hard work on imagery, design, and preparation of the curriculum to be transferred online, and the mighty team at Yogazeit for generously and passionately supporting this project. Thank you to our partner Act Belong Commit Dont delay. Be the next Deadly Minds Indigenous Youth Yoga Teacher. Apply for a scholarship today at www.deadlyminds.com.au

We are very excited to share with you a sneak peek of our NEW website for our online learning platform Deadly Minds. Deadly Minds™ is the world’s first Indigenous Youth Yoga Teacher Training, launched in 2022. Deadly Minds™ emerged through learning and collaboration via extensive outreach projects working with Indigenous children and young people, Elders, remote schools and vital community stakeholders from various language groups across Western Australia. The driven desire from remote community members to learn the teaching skills of culturally-relevant, trauma informed Yoga and Mindfulness sparked the light for Deadly Minds™. This uniquely developed program has been guided, informed and co-developed specifically with and for Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia. We invite you to explore www.deadlyminds.com.au, register your interest, or apply for a scholarship. We are grateful for a Here to Be grant from lululemon on Centre for Social Impact. Through this partnership, we aim to advance community well-being by bringing you Deadly Minds 2024. Supported by our partner Act Belong Commit #internationaldatofyoga #IDY2024

Corina graduated from Deadly Minds in 2023. We recently asked her to reflect back on why she applied for a place in our Indigenous Youth Yoga Teacher training. Corina explained that she had heard about Yogazeit from the community and the children at school while living in Bidyadanga. "The kids really enjoy it, and so do the teachers and staff." She hoped that the training would give her more tools to empower herself and others, including the kids, youth, and community. She was keen to try something different. These reasons made Corina really want to be part of Deadly Minds and submit her application. We are excited that Deadly Minds 2024 scholarships and applications will open soon. Will you be our next graduate? We are grateful for a Here to Be grant from lululemon Centre for Social Impact. Through this partnership, we aim to advance community well-being by bringing you Deadly Minds 2024. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with an amazing team of passionate and highly skilled professionals over the past six years. Yogazeit is governed by an executive board that dedicates time and expertise by volunteering. Additionally, we have collaborated with an advisory committee of experts who have generously supported our mission and vision by volunteering their time and knowledge. Everyone joining us at Yogazeit over the last six years has brought something unique to our board to help us make the necessary decisions to move forward. Whether a board member joins us for a short time or a long time, their support has been invaluable in helping us reach where we are today. Thank you for generously giving your time to support us. #NVW2024

At the heart of every impactful initiative lies the generosity and support of organisations that are committed to community well-being. Our partner's belief in our pilot programs has been the cornerstone of our success, enabling us to bring culturally relevant, trauma-informed programs to some of Western Australia’s most remote and underserved communities. Reflecting and evaluating our outreach projects, two-way learning and knowledge exchange allow something new to be created, which is built upon the foundations of projects like Mindful Hearts. We invite you to learn more about Mindful Hearts. Mindful Hearts was generously supported by our partners: Healthway , Lotterywest, Act Belong Commit and Fair Game Australia, and we are thankful to the many local organisations and individuals who made this project possible https://lnkd.in/gcVnWAk6 #GratitudeSpotlight #CommunityImpact #Partnerships #MindfulHearts #CommunityWellBeing #ThankYou

Sharn, our facilitator of Deadly Minds 2023, filmed a chair yoga class for Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) as part of their staff well-being resources. This is just a small excerpt of the class. We invite you to take a moment to breathe with us today and, if you have time, let us know how it made you feel. With thanks to funding partners lululemon philanthropic 'Here to Be' giving program and our supportive partner Act Belong Commit. #workplacestress #anxiety #staffwellbeing

We spent 28 days with the remote Ngaanyatjarra Lands School in 2021, delivering our first culturally relevant Mindful Movement Education Curriculum. This program was purely community led and inspired, passionately and collaboratively designed from community - for community. Consulting in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands, we saw a spark in the young people with whom we shared these skills. They shared a desire to learn more about teaching yoga and mindfulness. A comment from one young person “I want to be a yoga teacher for my mob” created a momentum in the small and mighty team of individuals passionate about the health and wellbeing of Indigenous youth. With the skills and knowledge gained in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands and further outreach projects, which took us to the Pilbara and the Kimberley, we started to collaboratively build a Youth Yoga Teacher Training, especially for Indigenous Australians. In 2022, Deadly Minds became the first Indigenous Youth Yoga Training Camp, and 10 graduates gained the skills and tools needed to support themselves and others. In 2023, 8 new Indigenous Youth Yoga teachers graduated from the Deadly Minds Program. We are very excited with some news on the horizon - Deadly Minds 2024. Taking a long service leave break with family and seeking ways to continue to teach yoga while travelling led to the creation of a health promotion charity dedicated to providing trauma-informed Mindful Movement Education. Through our school based and outreach activities we support social emotional well-being, mental health, and healing with culturally relevant breathing, movement (yoga), and relaxation education and services. Since that initial Facebook post, Yogazeit has gone on to create and deliver programs in close collaboration with remote schools in Kimberley, Pilabara and Ngaanyatjarra Lands, as well as supporting Metro-based schools with Mindful Movement Education. We are thrilled to announce that we have received a grant from lululemon. This exciting news is the latest step in advancing our mission. The Here to Be grant aligns with our community driven approach to wellbeing and equity. Together, we will help drive positive change. Join us as we emerge from our breathing space and share more with you! 🙏❤️🌱 #Socialimpact #longserviceleave #lululemon #charity
