Each year, Australians celebrate NAIDOC Week to recognise the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme, "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud," is a powerful call to embrace and assert aboriginal heritage in the modern world. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories, and to participate in celebrations of the oldest continuous living cultures on earth. At Intertek, we are committed to reconciliation, consistently working on improvements to our company culture with our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan. Jonathan Ford from Kambarang Services visited us at the Maddington Global Centre of Excellence for NAIDOC week this year, giving an inspiring and thought-provoking presentation centered around the Journey of Wellbeing and the Timeline to Recovery and highlighted the importance of indigenous culture and representation in our modern world now and moving forward into our future. As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, we were honoured to host Jonathan Ford at our Perth office. His visit provided the team with an opportunity to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture. Jonathan commenced the session with a traditional smoking ceremony, followed by Dreamtime stories and an insightful discussion on Aboriginal history. Not just during NAIDOC week, but throughout the year, we will celebrate culture and continue to listen and learn. Keep the fire burning! Blak, Loud and Proud. #NAIDOC2024 #ddraustralia #BlakLoudProud

Well we’ve come to the end of another NAIDOC Week, a questioned was raised why can’t we have a public holiday for NAIDOC ? Definitely something to consider, but ultimately I hope we remember that it’s ok to celebrate Aboriginal and Islander cultures anytime of the year ❤️💛🖤
