The Opportunity

Due to rapid growth, we are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable and Reconciliation Officer to join our finance team (3 days a week). This key role involves managing all aspects of accounts receivable, reconciling balance sheet accounts, maintaining the fixed asset register, and ensuring contractor invoices are accurately matched to purchase orders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Process and manage incoming customer payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Record and allocate payments to appropriate customer accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including cash, bank, and other key accounts.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliation reports to assist with financial reporting.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded, tagged, and classified.
  • Match contractor invoices to corresponding purchase orders and delivery receipts to ensure accuracy.
  • Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders, working closely with Site Managers and contractors to ensure prompt and accurate payment.
  • Provide financial reports and analysis as required by the Senior Finance Manager.
  • Assist with preparation for month-end and year-end closing processes.

Key Attributes

The successful applicant will bring to the role:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounts receivable or financial administration role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset management, and invoicing processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy and organisational skills.
