The Organisation

Our client is a leading company within their industry, experiencing steady growth on a national scale. With team fit and culture a priority, the organisation is seeking a talented and motivated Accounts Receivable Officer to join their close knit and supportive team, as soon as possible. This is a rare opportunity to embark on your next challenge in an exciting evolving business environment, close to home in Melbourne's Northern suburb, Thornbury.

Position Description

Reporting directly to the CFO and working in partnership with the Accounts Payable Officer, the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing the national debtors ledger
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Process and allocate payments accurately within accounting systems
  • Daily banking duties
  • Manage the collection of outstanding invoices and follow up with clients on overdue payments
  • Communicate professionally with customers to handle payment inquiries and negotiate payment plans as needed
  • Reporting duties
  • Ad hoc tasks as required

Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar Accounts Receivable role, as well as the following attributes:

  • Personable nature and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • The ability to confidently work autonomously, as well as a desire to work among a close-knit collaborative team
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail with an ability to prioritise own work
  • A positive up beat nature and excellent time management skills
  • Experience using SAP or a large ERP system is highly advantageous
