The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounts Receivable Team Leader to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Group Finance Manager, you will lead the Accounts Receivable (AR) team to ensure effective management of customer accounts, adherence to credit policies, and optimisation of cash flow. This role is pivotal in overseeing collections, resolving customer inquiries, maintaining accurate account reconciliations, and minimising outstanding debt while fostering team development and stakeholder collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

Credit Control:

  • Oversee the AR team to ensure consistent application of credit policies and procedures.
  • Manage collections from Retail and Hire customers, resolving queries and processing approved claims.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of customer accounts and maintain customer master data.

Credit Extension Management:

  • Collaborate with the Group Finance Manager on credit facilities and monitor non-standard credit extensions.

Debt Collection:

  • Lead the team in managing overdue accounts, collaborating with sales teams to resolve issues.
  • Implement strategies to maximise cash flow and minimise exposure to bad debt.

Order Release Management:

  • Review and release orders on credit hold in alignment with company policies.

Reconciliation and Reporting:

  • Reconcile major accounts monthly and provide detailed performance reports to the Group Finance Manager.

Leadership and Development:

  • Foster a high-performance culture within the AR team.
  • Identify training needs and support team members’ professional growth.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and customers to enhance collaboration and satisfaction.


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounts receivable, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Experience in using Pronto (preferred).
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A hands-on leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and manage onsite/interstate teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, effective problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to success.
  • Expertise in accounts receivable management and compliance with ethical standards.
