The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Registered Midwives to join the Women’s and Children’s clinical leadership team at Northern Health.The Associate Midwifery Unit Manager is a Registered Midwife who demonstrates expert knowledge and skills whilst assuming a prominent management focus within the ward. The AMUM is an integral member of the department management team, assisting the NUM in the course of their duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinical environment.
We are currently seeking a number of Temporary Part-Time Associate Midwifery Unit Managers in the Maternity & Women's Health Unit.
The AMUM manages the nursing\midwifery and related resources available to the department, sets the clinical standards to achieve a high quality of nursing\midwifery care and fosters and maintains a working environment which provides professional development and job satisfaction for all staff. The \AMUM assumes the responsibilities and authority of MUM in their absence and as such must have knowledge of the administrative operation.

- Current Level 3 (RANZCOG) Fetal Surveillance Education Program practitioner
- High standard of communication skill and resource person with the unit
- Commitment to quality women-centre care and quality improvement
- Good leadership skills and operation knowledge of the unit
- Proven ability to work in a collaborative and high-pressure environment
- Accredited to complete newborn examinations
