About the role: We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support the financial controller and the accounts team. This role will be at Chadstone Toyota and support Patterson Cheney Ringwood and Vision E Mobility brands, including Werribee Mahindra, Mahindra, and JAC Motors in Pakenham. The successful candidate will have a background in dealership accounts or junior accountant experience and be looking for their next step.

Responsibilities Include

• Assisting the dealership accountant in day-to-day financial operations and month-end processes
• Managing accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices and payments
• Reconciling bank statements and performing general ledger entries
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Conducting periodic inventory checks and reconciling inventory records
• Performing accounts reconciliation and reporting as required
• Assisting with payroll administration and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
• Collaborating with the finance team and providing support in various finance-related tasks
• Assisting in the implementation of financial controls and process improvements
  
  

About You

• MUST have previous experience in a similar dealership role, preferably within the automotive industry
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ideal)
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and previous accounting software experience will be ideal
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Current VIC drivers licence
