At Love Athletica, we’re dedicated to enhancing well-being through Pilates and movement. With multiple studio locations across Victoria, South Australia, and ACT, our mission is to provide a premium experience that supports our clients' health and wellness goals. We are a growing team, with 10 HQ staff and 60 casual instructors, expanding into new markets over the next 24 months. We’re looking for a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our multi-site operations through this exciting growth phase.
Position Overview:
As COO, you will oversee the operation and performance of our Boutique Reformer & Mat Pilates studios across multiple locations. This strategic role requires a proven leader with expertise in operations, team management, innovation, service excellence, and sales & marketing. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team to drive business growth, optimise operational efficiency, and enhance the client experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to execute the company’s operational strategy, aligning goals with initiatives to maximise growth, efficiency, and profitability.
Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation across all locations to ensure financial targets are met while maintaining service excellence.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring staffing aligns with Love Athletica’s culture and performance standards. Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster employee retention.
Sales & Marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to develop strategies for client acquisition, marketing campaigns, and sales targets.
Client Experience: Enhance client satisfaction by improving program offerings and customer service. Oversee customer service and retention programs to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Operational Management: Oversee studio performance, staffing, manage studio scheduling, and quality control across all locations. Ensure consistency and efficiency in service delivery.
Innovation & Expansion: Identify operational improvements, implement new technologies, and drive business expansion, including new studio openings.
Reporting & Compliance: Regularly report on operational performance, financial status, and KPIs. Ensure compliance with health and safety, industry regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a General Manager or COO, ideally in the fitness, wellness, retail or service industry.
Strong multi-site operations management and client service background.
Analytical skills with experience using data to drive decisions and improve performance.
Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and fostering a growth-oriented culture.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Passion for fitness and wellness is a plus.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior management role within a multi-site operation.
