About the role:
The primary focus of this position is to lead the commercial recovery/allocation, and network/metering settlements elements of the Commercial Assurance function. This role provides an increased level of commercial protection across the end-to-end revenue and cost recovery processes. This includes ensuring that relevant policies, controls, processes, documentation, and systems are in place to manage revenue leakage, energy costs pass-through risks, and network/metering settlements activities effectively.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Continuously improve processes that ensure end to end assurance of revenue and costs from source through to customer invoices.
- Identify, analyse, report, and manage the various financial risks faced by the business.
- Work closely with all areas of business to ensure all sources of revenue and pass-through charges are identified and passed on to customers.
- Implement best practice controls relating to all areas of commercial assurance.
- Actively contribute to delivery of processes and systems that deliver to your commercial goals.
- Contribute to and monitor progress against, personal Performance and Development Plan objectives and undertake appropriate professional development opportunities. Establish appropriate Performance and Development Plans for the team and monitor performance against them, taking corrective action where required.
- Review competing demands and allocate resources to meet changes in team and stakeholder priorities.
- Manage the work performance and review of direct report(s) and foster their development.
About you:
- Solid experience in a similar position with an Energy/Utilities industry,
- Experience working with complex financial models.
- Experience managing / leading small teams
- Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to collate and clearly convey information to others,
- Commercial acumen and business/systems process improvement capabilities,
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, negotiation and influencing, facilitation of meetings, and customer relationship management,
- Ability to manage customer expectations and competing demands to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes,
- Influencing and collaboration skills with demonstrated capacity to manage stakeholders at all levels,
- Problem solving and analytical skills covering complex operational problems in the context of ambiguity and change,
- Familiarity with Energy Market operations and associated software systems (e.g., Salesforce, Orion, Energetiq, MSATS etc.),
- Demonstrated ability of preparing and presenting to senior management teams, and
- Hands on experience in SQL, Excel, and analytics tools.
