About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Finance professional to support high quality financial planning and analysis (FP&A), month-end activities, insight into business unit performance against budget/forecast/prior year and assist driving business performance. This role will track, and measure project spend, ensure the business case efficiencies are delivered and make recommendations on whether the project spend can be capitalised.

Based in Melbourne and reporting to the GM Commercial Finance & Strategy, the Financial Analyst works with our business units in ensuring the commercial finance function is highly valued as a strategic partner and retains an ongoing focus on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Prepare detailed operational and Business Unit reports to support decision-making
  • Perform and improve sales planning, gross margin and business unit performance analysis
  • Provide timely, relevant and value-added commercial insights
  • Participate in KPI development for future business needs
  • Prepare budgets and forecast for the Group and knowledge of 3-way modelling
  • Update actual against prepared budget/forecast and analyse variances.
  • Customise Business Unit variance reports, identify revenue and operational cost drivers
  • Be a key player in achieving the operation and financial objectives of the business by providing commercial advice to key stakeholders
  • Complete cost allocation and review prior to end of month close
  • Complete pricing schedules in collaboration with bid management team
  • Providing support to stakeholders and clients (internal and external) to a high standard

You will be an experienced financial professional who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in finance, FP&A or business partnering role with relevant qualifications
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling skills
  • High-level of financial, analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of key business performance drivers
  • Project accounting
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to work flexibly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
