The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst to join our team and support the optimisation of business decisions for sustainable growth. The role will focus on analysing high-volume financial transaction data, providing insights into financial performance, and driving improvements across reporting, transaction monitoring, and budgeting processes. The successful candidate will be key in delivering strategic insights to support business growth and enhancing financial operations.


Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyse high-volume transactions to detect anomalies, fraud, or errors, and implement improvements in transaction monitoring efficiency.
  • Conduct data and variance analysis, create dashboards, and provide insights on financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and margin improvement.
  • Analyse transaction margins and payment methods to ensure profitability, preparing reports and collaborating on addressing profitability concerns.
  • Reconcile settlement data with processor reports and invoices, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records for audits and financial reporting.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and developing financial models for business decisions, including pricing and market expansion.
  • Support the finance team with monthly reports, journal preparation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare weekly summaries of financial activities, highlighting key trends and issues for senior management.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support sales strategies and collaborate on optimising sales performance.


What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, ideally within the payments industry.
  • Strong experience with large volumes of transaction data and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in analytical software tools (Excel, Access, SQL, Python).
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and data analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting.
