Base pay range

A$83,706.00/yr - A$89,659.00/yr

The Role


As an APS 5 Data Analyst within Financial Compliance Assurance you will:


  • Identify and undertake analysis to define, structure, solve and provide advice on complex data problems, including gathering and exploring data and information from a variety of sources.
  • Analyse, prepare, publish and provide timely advice on complex Financial Compliance issue data-based briefs, reports and advanced visualisations to inform Defence decision making.
  • Coordinating and gathering evidence or information from key stakeholders across the Department of Defence (Defence).
  • Liaise with stakeholders across Defence to deliver on the Financial Compliance program.
  • Review existing Financial Compliance data analysis activities to assess the effectiveness and identify process improvements.
  • Provide and apply judgment to tailor advice to stakeholders, peers and the Defence executive on financial compliance programs.
  • Assist the Financial Compliance Assurance team to meet their deliverables within the nominated timeframes and to a consistently high standard.
  • Responsible for the ethical use of data and interpreting and complying with legislation, Defence policy and regulatory frameworks including data management requirements.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.


About our Team


The Financial Compliance Assurance Directorate undertakes financial compliance assurance audits and activities in accordance with Defence financial policies, frameworks, guidance and legislation. The team applies a risk-based approach to its strategic objectives, leveraging automation and data analytics to identify financial business process risk, issues and integrity related matters which require further investigation. The team also provides advice to DFG and other stakeholders to improve Defence’s financial compliance control environment and operational business processes.
