Financial Controller – Renewable Energy

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the financial management of a major wind power operation in Victoria, Australia. This role is critical in ensuring robust financial operations, compliance, and strategic decision-making for a large-scale renewable energy project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting & Financial Reporting:
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and preparation of financial statements under local GAAP and IFRS.
• Compliance & Audit:
• Ensure adherence to Australian tax laws, regulatory requirements, and manage internal and external audits.
• Treasury Management:
• Optimize cash flow, manage risk, and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
• Financial Planning & Analysis:
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Project Financing:
• Administer project financing agreements, monitor covenants, and explore refinancing opportunities.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Professional certifications (CFA, CMA, CA, or ACCA) required; a Master’s in Finance or MBA is preferred.

Experience:

• At least 15 years in financial management, including 5+ years in a senior financial leadership role.
• Familiarity with Australian corporate and tax laws, local GAAP, and IFRS.
• Experience in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or similar sectors is highly desirable.

Skills:

• Proficiency in financial systems such as Oracle and advanced financial modeling.
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and thrive in a multicultural environment.
