About the Role

As Sesimi’s Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the company’s financial operations. You’ll be responsible for preparing accounts for certification, overseeing R&D Tax Credit applications, developing financial dashboards for the board, and providing strategic financial advice. Your focus on cost control and analysis will support our continued growth and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Certification:
• Prepare accurate and timely accounts for certification with auditors.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• R&D Tax Credit Management:
• Oversee the preparation and submission of R&D Tax Credit applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Board Reporting & Insights:
• Develop and deliver financial dashboards and detailed reports for the board.
• Provide actionable strategic advice to senior leadership based on financial performance and trends.
• Cost Control & Analysis:
• Monitor and manage costs across all business operations, driving efficiency and adherence to budgets.
• Conduct detailed cost and revenue analysis to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
• Leadership & Collaboration:
• Partner with teams across the business to align financial strategies with operational goals.
• Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in a financial controller or senior finance role, ideally in a SaaS or technology-driven company.
• Proven experience preparing accounts for certification and managing R&D Tax Credit applications.
• Skilled in developing and presenting financial dashboards and reports to executive stakeholders.
• Strong expertise in cost control, revenue analysis, and strategic financial advice.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
