About the Firm:

Morgan Consulting is excited to be partnering with a progressive accounting and advisory firm located in the Melbourne CBD seeking an Intermediate/ Senior Accountant to join a motivated and collaborative team. They have experienced steady growth for several years now which has opened the door for a new member to join the business services team. The Partners have an open-door policy and offer extensive support to the team. This firm provides regular training, quarterly social events, working from home flexibility and an excellent team culture. They don’t use timesheets and are fully on the cloud using Xero.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with clients from day one
• Preparation of management reports, financial statements, tax returns and BAS’s for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts
• Preparation of FBT returns
• Preparation of correspondence with clients
• Review the work of Junior Accountants
• Working closely with the team manager and executive director
• Bank reconciliations, bookkeeping duties and transactional entries for multiple clients across many industries
• Assisting in data gathering and information preparation for the financial year end and audit processes

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm
• Commenced or completed your CA or CPA studies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Outstanding technical skills in a range of areas including income tax, accounting, compliance obligations, GST & payroll tax

Confident in a client-facing role, ability to multi-task with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• A desire to succeed and achieve goals both as a team and individually

Sound knowledge of Xero is desirable
