Following an internal promotion, we are pleased to advertise an opportunity to join our Maintenance Operations Team in the role of Manager Heavy Maintenance Planning.

Primary function of this role is to assess the short, mid and long-term maintenance requirements and capacity settings so that Maintenance Operations can make informed decisions about the allocation of maintenance work. The role is also required to measure the performance of the Engineering business and drive continuous improvement.

Reporting to our Senior Manager Maintenance Operations, key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing the planning and execution of our heavy maintenance program including heavy maintenance program initiatives
  • Working closely with seasonal and integrated planning functions to ensure engineering and maintenance requirements are coordinated with operational and network objectives
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders and customers to jointly develop initiatives to reduce maintenance demand and optimize fleet performance
  • Working closely with the Operations Teams to ensure the forecasted flying schedule can be delivered
  • Working with internal and external suppliers to assess performance and inform continuous improvement opportunities and negotiation of agreements.
  • Identify and execute on strategic opportunities to change the mix of maintenance footprint and maintenance suppliers to improve engineering and airline business outcomes.
  • Developing financial budget estimates for maintenance execution associated with forecast demand and suppliers.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the Engineering business to internal stakeholders and customer airlines.

We are on the hunt for someone who has experience, qualifications and attributes including:

  • Experience in Heavy Maintenance Planning
  • Experience in airline operations and/or aircraft engineering
  • Experience managing interface with Part 145 suppliers for maintenance execution
  • In depth knowledge and competency in reviewing and understanding aircraft maintenance programs (e.g. AMP)
  • Stakeholder and supplier performance management skills
