About The Role

Our Independence Team is expanding and we’re looking for a Risk & Ethics - Independence - Senior Manager (Assurance Focus) to join our vast community of solvers. The Independence Team brings our purpose to life by helping the firm, its partners and staff, manage a range of regulatory and professional requirements to ensure the firm’s independence from audit and assurance clients.

You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:

  • Audit or compliance
  • Analytical and communication skills
  • Applying complex legislative, regulatory and policy requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills


In our Independence team, your impact will be seen by:

  • Providing advice on a range of independence matters.
  • Assisting to interpret and understand the relevant independence rules and to reflect these appropriately.
  • Conducting data reviews and communicating findings and anomalies to the practice to aid continued improvement.
  • Assisting with or leading projects to create, update and improve guidance materials as well as advising on the rollout of new systems and technologies relating to the management of critical risk areas.
  • Analysing potential breaches and preparing breach reporting.
  • Managing the Assurance workflow as appropriate, along with managers and other senior managers on the team.
  • Managing service delivery ensuring that queries are answered promptly
  • Attending training sessions to develop a strong independence knowledge base.
  • Delivering training to the Assurance business on Independence issues relevant to their work.
  • Providing support and coaching to more junior team members.
  • Assisting with other areas of the Independence team as required.
