Senior Accountant

ABOUT THE COMPANY.

My client is a well-known wholesaler based in the north/west suburbs and is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their close- knit finance team

The Senior Accountant will be directly responsible for the management of the end-to-end finance needs ensuring they are fully addressed and managed within the regulatory and legal requirements for the Australia and New Zealand region.

Someone who is immediately available or has a short notice period is highly regarded.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Financial accounts including profit and loss, balance sheet and notes to the accounts as appropriate
• Manage annual audit and liaise with the auditors regarding the preparation of the Statutory accounts
• Complete to lodgement all taxation matters
• Management of all accounts payable/ receivable and payroll requirements as well as the team (of 2)
• Manage Cash Flow and banking facilities including foreign exchange
• Annual Budget preparation and monitoring
• Manage and review all leases and provide bank guarantees / insurances as required

SKILLS + EXPERIENCE.

• Highly organised with attention to detail
• Accounting Degree and CA/CPA qualifications
• Thorough understanding of accounting procedures
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of role
• Significant experience in lodgement of all types of tax returns
• Experienced, skilled and knowledgeable in the use of major accounting packages and systems including MYOB (desirable) and Excel (essential)
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to understand and interpret ATO rules and regulations/legislation
