About The Role
The Senior Technical Accountant is a senior role within the Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy team and is responsible for providing technical advice on Group accounting topics and for ensuring accurate and timely statutory reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries. You will play a key role in the design, development, and communication of the Group’s accounting policies to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.
You will be supported by a team of Financial and Assistant Financial Accountants, working in a matrix structure, so strong leadership and team collaboration skills will be required. This role will be primarily involved in a reporting and advisory capacity so will require the ability to present financial information to senior management and external stakeholders together with a continuous improvement mindset to enhance the end-to-end reporting process.

key Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Partner with the Group’s business divisions to provide technical accounting advice to support commercial outcomes in relation to strategic initiatives and transactions
- Provide technical advice and thought leadership to Group Finance on topics relating to Group accounting matters and policies
- Influence the Group’s external auditor to obtain technical clearance on technical accounting matters
- Design and implement up-to-date accounting policies, providing the necessary training to finance business partners and business divisions
- Manage and implement changes to accounting standards and IFRIC decisions
- Lead delivery of the Group’s standalone subsidiary statutory reporting providing direction to a team of Financial Accountants responsible for preparation of the individual financial statements
- Manage the delivery of the Group’s Consolidated half-year and annual statutory reporting
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statement disclosures
- Analyse and implement improvements to the Group’s legal entity structure
Key skills and experience that we will be looking for in the successful candidate will include:
- CA/CPA qualified (or international equivalent) with 7+ years post qualification experience
- Financial Services expertise preferred
- Demonstrated experience in producing and reviewing financial statements
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying accounting standards
- Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities across all levels
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with influence
- Experience operating and delivering results in a matrix environment and leveraging relationships to influence and drive outcome
- Business and commercial acumen, credibility, reputation and proven track record of success
- Curious mindset with a view to implement continuous improvement
