A typical day may look like:

Reporting into the Manager Financial Accounting the role will be responsible for the preparation of Statutory & Nutrien management reports for both local management and the Corporate Head office in North America/Calgary. This role will also be responsible for supporting and implementing local and global Finance Transformation projects. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with global stakeholders and have exposure to colleagues in North American and Calgary.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with the preparation & review of all required statutory financial reports, including all note disclosures.
• Assist with the coordination of year-end external audit processes, including liaising with external auditors.
• Responsible for the preparation & review of monthly, quarterly & annual Nutrien close schedules and associated reports.
• Responsible for the preparation & review of monthly statutory consolidation and reporting schedules required for APRA compliance reporting.
• Accounting for profit and loss & balance sheet accounts including preparation of monthly journals/general ledger reconciliations (including some review).
• Management/review of equity accounting for associates & joint ventures.
• Provide accurate & timely monthly analysis/commentaries of results.
• Analyse business requirements to recommend and/or develop procedures/processes to solve & implement management/financial accounting requirements.
• Be responsible for the completion of ABS surveys.
• Ad hoc tasks and projects as directed by management.
  
  

A little about you:

To be successful in this role, you will have had experience in a similar position with proven knowledge of accounting standards, both technical and practical implementation.

In addition you will have:

• Degree in Accounting/Commerce
• Completed professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA)
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Highly developed analytical skills
• The ability to work with multiple internal & external stakeholders.
• Exposure to working with various teams within an organisation.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficient with MS Excel and prior experience with large ERP systems
• Previous experience working on SAP and TM1 would be advantageous.
