Senior Financial Accountant

Position: Sr Financial Accountant

Location: Western Suburbs of Melbourne

Reporting to: CFO

A Western Melbourne suburbs transportation company is seeking an Accountant to join its team. This is a very exciting opportunity as this position has a fast-track trajectory to climb senior leadership within the business within a short span.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage ledgers, trial balances, and management accounts, ensuring timely month-end reports and KPI submissions.
• Oversee cash management, including GL reconciliations, year-end processing, and income tax preparation.
• Maintain and reconcile the asset register, ensuring updates are completed on schedule.
• Review payroll, PAYG, taxes, and super to ensure compliance with all deadlines.
• Handle creditors, accruals, and provisions; review and process invoices, cheques, and EFT payments.
• Monitor IT support, HR administration, and subcontractor records in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Provide ad hoc financial reports, assist with budgeting, and support operational teams as needed.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, audits, and external reporting requirements.

• Leadership abilities to guide the accounting team and support business outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA/CA Qualified
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
• Transportation experience is a nice to have.
