We are considering both Infrastructure/System Engineers or brilliant systems administrators who can demonstrate great engineering skills.

About the role(s):

As the Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be working within a medium size IT team 26+ within an organisation 1000+ end users in financial services pioneering and making massive leaps as innovators with AI business adoption. Many of the applications within AI will leverage Azure Co-pilot and working with many other latest technologies that you will help define and implement in the large roadmap ahead. Business has invested heavily in IT Infrastructure and Security with many other IT initiatives.

Perfect time to join as the next months/years will focus on enabling AI to become a true pioneer in their industry, that will involve a massive infrastructure journey in Azure as they transition remaining legacy services to cloud to leverage AI capabilities.

Location: Melbourne Hybrid 2 days onsite CBD.

Salary: 145k - 160k Total remuneration package

Key Responsibilities:

• 70% + of the role focused on Azure (Cloud Engineering) operations and project work.
• Maintain and support remaining windows and VMware environments, running in Hybrid, while providing engineering advice and implementation on how to migrate to Azure.
• Plan and apply regular security, patches, collaborating closely with security, infrastructure, business applications teams.

What you will bring:

You are a team player and great at communicating both internally within IT and wider project teams within the business. You are passionate about IT, constantly want to be growing and learning with latest technologies. You have demonstrated experience supporting both on prem and cloud environments with a good understanding of Azure, You know what a good on prem to cloud migration looks like and keen to understand more about Azure, especially at scale and adopting new technologies to support AI. (some may be your choice).

Skills and Experience:

• 5-7+ years of experience in IT technical roles focused on Infrastructure engineer or systems administration.
• Demonstrated experience supporting windows environments (physical/virtual) with Azure ideally in a a hybrid environment transitioning to cloud.
• Experience designing/architecting Azure solutions, understanding best practices, with recommendations are nice to have, not critical to apply, will grow this skill on the job.
• Must have good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Good knowledge of Azure AD(now Entra ID) and conceptual knowledge around SSO.
• Good understanding of managing Microsoft 365.
• Good understanding around Office 365 and Azure security (Azure Key Vaults/Sentinel /Defender) or conceptual knowledge with other security tools.
• Must have a good understanding of Networks with ability to collaborate with network engineers, as you support Azure in a hybrid environment.
• Automation scripting PowerShell, any exposure to Infrastructure as Code (nice to have, if new an opportunity to learn)
• Experience with Azure ARC will be highly regarded.
• Any knowledge or interest with Microsoft Fabric will be highly desirable, or ideally some experience supporting Data teams/environments.
